Netflix & Hulu+ On Xbox/PS in South Africa

I presume the use of Unotelly would also work with services like Last.FM and Slacker? And what about XBOX Music (although at around R80 per month it is not worth it for me - don't listen to that much music)?

And another (possibly silly) question, but when using the VPN do you choose the location you want to "mimic" (ie UK or US)? Can you switch between location fairly easily? The reason I ask is that I see some apps are available under my UK gamer profile while others are under the US one.

And finally, how does the use of Unotelly affect the rest of your browsing experience, MWEB news server downloads etc?

I haven't used their VPN service at all, so wouldn't be able to tell you. I set my DNS to their Cape Town server, it proxies/VPN's quite nicely and it's a local node. I haven't seen any ping spikes or crappy download speeds or anything of that matter (well, unrelated to the Seacom cables of course) via Xbox (which I setup for it, but you can actually push that through on your router and it will enable all devices connected to it auto-magically)

I haven't even touched on most other services offered, too busy with Netflix atm :) I actually heard you can stream much better quality with a Roku 3 unit, so I'm actually thinking of buying myself one and not bother with Xbox anymore for TV stuff

Hey Guys

Right, so this is where im at now.

Got myself a virtual CC from Entropay, loaded some Dollars and got my CC number.

Got myself a unotelly subscription, did the whole DNS thinghy, and according to their test, i am ready to rumble

this is the part that im struggling with

Hulu+ .... i want to register an account and pay the subs ... but

they keep on telling me my address is wrong, which is obvious because i dont select a state and i also dont give a zip code

how do i go about to get my Hulu+ account ??

Please help!

Thanks in advance

Put in a bogus address and state?

eish .... it doesnt want to accept any of the fake addresses that i enter.

at this rate, DSTV looks like the easiest option again!

Get an Oregon on Delaware address. Why? Because they don't have sales tax.
What I do is get a town in google maps. Go down to street view and find an empty plot. Make a note of the adres. Google to get the towns zip code. Tada! Magic without multichoice.

I'm thinking http://entropay.com (the same used for Netflix account)

Haven't subscribed or watched Hulu yet though :)

Entropay wants quite a few things...

In accordance with our monitoring procedure we need some documents to be able to verify your identity.

In order to verify your identity the following documentation is required:

A copy of a valid photo ID (both sides), such as: National ID card, Passport, Driving License, Official government issued Photo ID (Army, Police, Diplomatic), or residency permit
Proof of address, such as: a postal bank statement, a postal credit card statement, a mobile phone bill, an online utility bill (water, electricity or gas bill) or financial statement. Note: must have been issued in the last 90 days and must match your EntroPay account address
A copy of all bank cards (both sides) registered on your account. For security reasons only the first 6 and last 4 digits should be visible, also please COVER the 3 digit security code (CVV) found on the back of the card. (If you are using a virtual card to fund your EntroPay account, please provide us with a screenshot of the card details)
Please upload each image as a separate file. Example - The front copy of the ID card as one file and the back copy of the ID card as another file.

But what about the Sport? Would love to be able to watch sport thereby negating that ugly beast we have called "DSTV"

And there you have touched a very sore point. AFAIK, there are no high quality web alternatives. There is Supersport streaming (use a friend with a premium sub's details) and I've heard that www.justin.tv streams a lot of stuff, but it is low quality. I've heard. never tried justin.tv.

Now to rant on a related note: Why does supersport's streaming suck as bad as it does? I can stream Netflix, Hulu and a load of other stuff without a hitch and it looks good. Supersport looks like crap that was dressed up in a crap suit and with a little crap fedora on it's crappy little head. And then it also buffers every two minutes. :wtf:
