Netflix uses Torrent popularity for market research

Hmm, thats pretty interesting but makes sense. Netflix is generally a season or two behind any current showings, so its a good way of judging what to release next.
I will admit, the affordability of netflix has stopped myself downloading a lot of shows too, even if it is a season or two behind.

Only bit I didn't like, "South African Netflix subscribers currently use a combination of proxies, false addresses and virtual private networks (VPN) to access content on Netflix. Despite paying for a legal streaming service, Netflix advises that this flouts their terms and conditions of the service."

I really wish netflix was legally in the country. James has anyone from mybroadband or mygaming ever tried to interview netflix?

I dont think they care at all, its not like they're really trying to stop us at all. Saying that just covers their backs. The only reason why its illegal is because of SA's stupid broadcasting laws. The fact that I'm paying for it makes me feel slightly better that just pure pirating, at least the series producers etc are getting cash for their work from me. I dont give a crap about breaking South African law in this regard.
