This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, but Ubisoft has finally come out and confirmed that a new Assassin’s Creed game will be coming out every year. Just how Activision continues to push out a new Call of Duty every year, Ubisoft will be doing the same, and it’s all because of one thing, money. Assassin’s Creed III was the best game out of the series, and it will most likely continue to improve with every new game in the franchise.

“No, the players will tell us. Right now there are more and more coming into the franchise, so I don’t see that day,” Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat told Eurogamer. “The players will tell us. When you have quality content, the frequency of coming out with the game is not an issue at all. On the contrary, people expect more and more of that content. So it’s natural to be able to provide that content. The gamers are happy and it’s our job to make them happy.”

Ubisoft does make some good points, seeing how Assassin’s Creed has a large user base, it would be foolish not to capitalize on the opportunity.

Those games are getting worse by the year IMO. The first AC was the best, the rest was just rinse repeat.

Good storylines but the gameplay...meh. Rather release a AC game every 2 years or so but put a lot more work in it.
 
Seriously enough now FFS. This is starting to look like the movie The Crow, loved it, but then they released number 2 and ya ok was average and then they just didn't stop and totally killed it.

AC is now old and stale. I wasn't even going to buy AC 3 but in the end got it, I will definitely pass on the next and further releases.

That would've been better! Busy with AC3 now.. it's ok but think AC2 was the best one yet
 
Sigh, now can people not try and make originals every year, are all the ideas taken already?

I say keep 'em coming. Finished AC3 for the second time the other day and loved it, also played the first 2 episodes of the DLC and while a bit short, it was still awesome. If you don't like them releasing so many then don't buy them. I for one can't wait for AC IV and whatever comes after that. As long as Ubisoft keeps up the great story and combat and keep on adding new things (which they have been doing) I'll keep on buying and playing them.
 
AC is a great series in my opinion and if they want to start annual releases then I'm happy to add their release to my calender.
Its an original series that I can happily spend hours into collecting items and exploring the world. This is great news to me and if the series starts to degrade then I'll stop with the collectors editions but I don't see myself not getting a day one release anytime soon. Now if you excuse me I have to send an email to Bt-games and takealot to see who is willing to place me on list for the Buccaneer edition since I still haven't seen an actual pre-oder item yet.

I agree with this. Give the fans what they want. I WISH they would milk the Beyond Good and Evil franchise like this, but unfortunately it just wasn't popular enough.
