New Carmageddon in development?

I just watched it now, it not what it say is is, look like destruction derby hits twisted metal and a touch of need for speed. I dont know my previous comment seems to be voided.
 
Carmageddon was one of my favourite pc games from my younger days, totally amped if they are planning on developing a new one, i just hope it'll turn out to be an awesome game and they don't ruin my memory of it :(
 
Now this brings back memories. Hoping that it will be good though, and no zombies. Zombie version is lameee!
 
Spent hours playing this game with my mates (when the folks weren't around...) Hope this one lives up to its predecessors!
 
more reboots... I'm good with that, it's going to be hard to live up to the original. i was always more of a destruction derby 2 fan.

phew! we all survived Armageddon on Saturday... now roll on Carmageddon!

cant wait to hit me some cows! :D
 
Cormagedon was an insane game! I spent hours playing that game hopefully the new one will be just as entertaining!

Commander keen would be epic, lol... But i am afraid it will become a first person shooter...

Runs to see if keen will work on Win 7

If you mean what was it all about, it was basically a game where you race around the city, and there's a timer that counts down (when it gets to 0, you lose straight away), but you get extra time for killing pedestrians, damaging the other cars in the race, flipping your car and landing on your wheels (cunning stunt bonus!), and that sort of thing. You could win by beating the other cars, destroying all the other cars, or killing all the pedestrians.

You'd also get cool powerups like the aforesaid pedestrian electro-bastard ray that would electrocute any pedestrians you come near.

Some of the sort of bonus's you get:

  • _x combo bonus!: Hit more than one pedestrian with the car or a power-up in quick succession.
  • Bonus for artistic impression: Hit a pedestrian creatively, for example landing on one after a jump.
  • Extra style bonus!: Kill a pedestrian using the side or rear of the car.
  • Piledriver bonus!: Crush a pedestrian between the car and a solid object (such as a wall or lamppost).
  • Splatter bonus!: Hit a pedestrian in a way that it splits severely. This can be achieved by smacking it with good speed.
  • "Nice shot, sir": Hit a pedestrian with a movable object that is not the player's car (such as a traffic light).
In short, it's about carnage! And it was awesome
 
Wow. I remember the first one. I also remember seeing that this was banned in a few countries (or just Australia, like 90% of all games lol).

Would love to see how this one pans out. Nothing like a bit of carnage, I always say.
 
I have been waiting forever for a remake of this (almost as long as Duke).
I think it will be a hit given gamez like (Split/second & Blur) being so good.
It'll be a multiplayer cracker
