New Chassis Advise :D

Hello people of MyGaming!

I got bored of my current chassis so I wanted to get some advice/opinions on different cases.

My system is as follows currently;

i7 2600k
Asus P8Z68-V Pro/GEN3
16GB Corsair LP 1600
Antec HCP 850
Corsair H100i
NZXT Sentry LX
2x Corsair AF 140
1xAerocool 200mm
2xAerocool 140mm Sharkfins

and I'm planning on picking up one of those sexy af R9 290X's so I need something that will fit.

I currently have a Aerocool XPredator. It's kinda tight in here so I would like something larger.
My budget would be R2500-00 but less is nice too.
Cable management is something I absolutely need. The more space and holes for routing the better.

Right now I'm looking at a Corsair 650D but I need to look at all my options.
Looking forward to your opinions.
Regards,
Mike

If you gonna choose the D, then bigger's better! "whistling:

Corsair Obsidian 750D

It will be available for purchase in November this year at around 1.9K

The 750 isn't exactly a replacement for the 650:

The 750D is taller and slightly wider than the 650D. The added internal headroom enables support for larger motherboards—EATX and XL-ATX—as well as one additional expansion slot, for a total of nine slots. Corsair has lopped off one 5.25" drive bay, but it's kept the number of 3.5" bays unchanged, and it's added four dedicated 2.5" bays. I suspect those 2.5" bays will be much more useful in a modern build than a fourth optical drive bay.

On the cooling front, the 750D replaces its predecessor's 200-mm front intake fan with two 140-mm spinners, and it switches out the 120-mm rear exhaust for a larger, 140-mm fan. However, there's no replacement for the 650D's 200-mm top exhaust fan. The 750D just has an empty vent in that spot. Users are free to stick any number of cooling devices up there, of course, but they'll have to bring their own.

Oh, and FireWire is absent from the front port cluster. I doubt that omission will cause much grief, though.

Sorry for throwing all those specs at you all at once, but I hope it's becoming clear that the 650D and 750D are two very different products. In fact, given their differences, I'd say they should be viewed not as two iterations of the same product, but as two separate offerings aimed at different users. That's the reality—and a look at store shelves will likely tell you as much. Corsair tells us the 750D isn't a "straight out replacement" for the 650D. Both cases should co-exist in the market, at least in the short term.

Thanks for that. Looks so sexy and it supports some future water cooling.
Just want a confirmed date of release soon :D

Hot damn. 750D vs 800D thoughts?
Quite the price difference. Worth it?

These cases are so far out of my financial reach that this is all dream advice ... like if I told you which Ferrari I'd like to buy

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1699262/corsair-650d-corsair-800d.html

But! The idea I got from reading the above thread about a comparison between the 650 and 800 is that the 650 is HUGE so don't get the 800 (which is even bigger) unless you want all the fan options that it has to offer.

The 750 does however have more cooling options than the 650 it seems

The chassis has a lot of cooling options with two 140mm front intake fans as well as one rear 120mm intake. Corsair provides space for three 120mm fans on the top of the chassis, or radiators up to 360mm in length. It is also possible to install a 280mm radiator in the front of the chassis as well as a 240mm unit at the bottom.

I'm only emphasizing the cooling as it seems you have quite a few fans in your current setup and I'm assuming you don't want to downgrade.

So the 750 would be the best of both worlds (I'm guessing)... also the 750's window is freeken sexy!

Yes!
I must have it. But only releasing in November :(

My birthday's in November... celebrate it for me:cry:

But seriously, it isn't too long and if you must get something then get the 650D.

If the minimalist look appeals to you (like it does to me) then there isn't anything better than Corsairs Obsidian series.

The swop from an Xpredator to an Obsidian is quite drastic though... I'd think you'd be looking for something along the lines of a Thermaltake, with all its vents and colours :p (no offence)

To be honest the Obsidian series looks like something I would prefer over the colourful frills and that crap :p
I'll be sure to wait for the 750D though, dayam.
Happy Early Birthday to you. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just a suggestion, why not take the case you have and customize it to your liking? Different paint job, change some LEDs, rebuild youre side cover with a different pattern/tribal cut out? You will be amazed what some paint can do

too small. That's probably the main reason.

So after looking at online reviews and stuff the 750D might be an issue as the case is extra wide. I use a dual bay fan controller and it will look out of place in the front of the case as it will have unsightly extensions on its side.

Anyone know if there's a way around this or another case I could look at?

I've got a Thermaltake Chaser A31, its a mid tower with nice cable routing options, space for 6 fans and or nice size radiator up top, the middle hdd cage can be removed for extra long sexy gpu's and a nice big sized side window to show off your goodies:p

Click on the gallery to see some of the other pics with completed water cooled setup

For all that features it didn't break the bank either, i paid R900 for the case...

Why not check out the NZXT Switch 810?

I'm rocking this case and it provides plenty of space for expanding, as well as great airflow if you don't want to watercool just yet.

Here's the inside of my case (same one) where you can see the space and cable management.
