Hey all,

Here is the specs of the potential new computer i want to order this week

CPU : Amd socket AM3 Phenom2 x4, Quad-core 955 (3.2Ghz) Black edition
MOBO : Asus Crosshair 3 Formula - Republic of Gamers
RAM : 4x Kingston Hyper-X 2Gb DDR3-1600
TOWER : Thermaltake Armor VH6000 Series - Black
PSU : Antec True Power Quattro 850Watt
DISPLAY : Samsung T260
GFX : 2x XFX HD4870x2

Comments or alternative's appreciated :D
 
Wow that is a beast.

In my opinion 2 4870X2s is just overkill though. Id rather get 2 4890s, these ones in particular - "HD 4890 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E DVI-I / TVO HDMI (Vapor X Cool)" @ Pcinternational for R2500.

They will run nice, cool and quiet.

That PSU may also struggle to give two 4870X2s enough juice.
 
i haven't decided yet. i'm using win7 atmo. it's pretty good, but battling for drivers with small stuff :)

I def think you right about the HD4890, i'll go with that choice :)
 
That pc will be power, but I agree on the 4870x2's though, rather go 4890!

I Ordered my CPU, board and memory, have my pc here at work waiting for delivery of my parts!

I decided to go for a Q9400 and a 4gig set of Transcend AxeRam, and an older but still good P45 chipset board (tight budget upgrade)

Decided on the quaddy, cause if the Infinityward forums are anything to go buy, MW2 will be optimized for Tri-Quad Core :) as will more games in the comming months.
