New genre invented: NS2 dev reveals Subnautica

It sounds really interesting, but time will tell how this pans out. It has a lot of potential for creepy encounters because undersea exploration is not a setting that a lot of games have used before. The only ones I can think of is Xcom: Terror from the deep and Aquanox.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for it.
 
Unconvinced about new genre claim. Right now the only thing that has a real shot at "new genre" is new sky...and well its a long shot.
 
I always thought it would be interesting if CoD or Bf etc had a deep sea underwater map. spear guns, personal subs etc.
