Im looking for the new GPU. My GPU is old and not running the games like i would like.

I dont have a massive budget so anything around R2000 to R3000 max R3500 would be cool.
Im doing my homework but just curious to what you guys think.

Nvidia Gtx 960 I think in that price range some places have it for R4000 atm but I did see it go for 3500 not a while back.
Seems to be the best pervorming card at that price range.

Best value for money would be to hang out on the Carbonite forum and look for a 4gb 960. The best new card you can get would be a 2gb 950, which the would be thrashed by the 960 at 1080p.

Just my opinion. I've grown rather fond of the second hand part market after having found a 970 Strix for 2.5k. Doesn't hurt to have a peek on OLX, Gumtree and Junkmail either.

Edit: R9 380X might be worth your time as well, but I don't know much about those AMD cards.

The GTX 960 or GTX 950 is probably your best bets. You can go the AMD route if you want to, but from experience I have always had issues with AMD cards whether it's drivers or hardware related.

Wait what? Haven't seen those drop less than 4k Second hand

I was very lucky with that find, unfortunately the previous owner had removed one of the stock fans and inserted a small 2200rpm Zalman fan underneath the shroud. Fortunately it's not too loud.

NEVER Buy PC parts from Gumtree, OLX or Junkmail. That is the worst advice ever!
Rather use sites like carbonite. With trusted users with a reputation.

Agree on the R9 380X though. There have been many threads on this exact same topic

Never is a strong word, rather use with caution and don't have anything delivered - if you can physically pick it up after seeing it in work, rather do that.

Agreed on Carbonite things are rather different, most people are trustworthy and shipping can be trusted.

I stick with NEVER. Things like A case, or fans sure. But a GPU.... The guy can even show it to you and say that it works... and 5 min installed into your pc it overheats... You can not Physically see if something is wrong with a computer component

i will have a check im still looking around for the stuff
hope i can find something with a good price tag
