New Headset time!

So rAge is around the corner, and I need me some headphones!! previously had Cyber Snipa headset, but the mic is dodge, the sound was great till Windows 7 and now the drivers are just messed up.
Also a bit tired of the big headset, specially for 3 days of gaming, gets hot and uncomfortable.

So I'm looking for something new that will set me up for another year or so;
- Gotta be comfortable for long game sessions
- Good sound (5.1 or stereo), Want to be able to hear the game while at a LAN of 100s of noisy gamers. Clear sound for games like CoD so that I can tell where those sneaky campers are coming from! :)
- Decent mic, want to be able to communicate with my teammates! current mic just distorts and reverberates, so i can never use it.
- Up to date driver support!
- Probably USB headset, would like to be able to use it on my PS3 for when I play online.

So yeah any good suggestions would be helpful, obviously nothing too expensive but I do have money to spend on something good, as I said; I plan on something for a year or more.

Thanks! :)

There are only two options even worth considering.

Don't bother with anything else if you can afford either of these. They are both awesome and quality is outstanding in terms of build quality and sound quality. I personally went for the G35, as I prefer the USB connection to the 3 stereo plugs of the Roccats. Didn't feel like unplugging my normal speakers each time I want to use headphones. Other than that, they are both brilliant.

Determine your budget and get one of these. Sell an organ if needs be.

On a side note, the G35 blocks out all other noise to the extent that I can't hear my wife when she calls and has led to some words before! :D :p So no worries about LAN noise being an issue.

Ah thanks for the replies! Yeah the Logitech G35 is out of my range, but it would of done well in my peripheral collection, alongside my G19 keyboard and G5 mouse! Alas R1200 this year for a headset is a lot considering I only really use them at LANs.
The ROCCAT Kave is more my price range, but also would like to rather settle on a USB headset for the occasional PS3 online game.
Been looking through Steel Series and Sennheiser reviews, but still looking up more reviews on all the sites, want to make a VERY well informed decision, as it's gotta last me a couple years hopefully! :)

Option 3 - Sennheiser PC-350s ;)

But yeah, those are outta the pricerange for most people.

If you want a USB headset, though, my advice is to go for one of the Steelseries models.

Just make sure that you don't buy a Razor it will be crap and it will break.

I like the sennies but they are a rip off in this country but if you have someone going overseas you should look into it :)

Ah don't like Razor at all myself, so won't go there for anything :) Think I'll be looking at rAge to see whats specials are up. The Roccat Kave's look nice, think I'm going to get a cheap simple compliant headset for the PS3 just for chatting when online. Then that leaves me free to chose USB or 3.5mm connections, instead of trying to get something universal for PC/PS3 on USB, I play PC games more, so should look at quality there. Thanks for all the insight, I'd never have known what to even look at without the help, and may have just disappointed myself again! :D
