New Keyboard (Gigabyte Aivia K8100 being eyed out)

It does seem like a great keyboard, with everything I'm looking for, except for the price tag :( And the normal Black Widow doesn't have backlighting, which is a silly thing to not have on kb of that price range.
 
Its Razer for you. They are a bit pricy on their mainstream products. Like their new Star Wars Keyboard is going to be easily in the R2k range.
 
Ok so I went to collect the keyboard this morning.
Interestingly enough it won the Red Dot Design Award for 2011. Just shows it is a pretty keyboard lol :)
I get Friday and Saturday off and will give it a whirl and post back with some impressions.
 
Ok so I plugged in my new keyboard last night. Didn't play anything as I had a quote to do for a customer so it was just general typing.
Impressions so far
WASD, space and enter are a lot harder to press then my previous logitech keyboard due to its increased elasticity.
The backlit isn't as bright as I thought it would be but is by no means bad.
The keyboard is very comfortable to use considering I have fairly long fingers. However it is not as quiet as my previous Logitech. It does come with a silicone cover for the keyboard which is usable when typing and does make the keyboard very quiet.

im sure that i saw a keyboard that was F@%k amazing for less than that
i think it was this month but i dont remmember where or what!:D

So after jamming on it over the weekend I am happy to say the keyboard is absolutely awesome.
From not having backlit keys to having them now playing at night is awesome.
As I say I have never had a gamers keyboard but I am thoroughly impressed by this one.
Overall rating is 89/100
Only problem I have is the buttons are a lil stiffer then the old Logitech but all good, I am sure I will get used to it.
 
If i had the bucks, i would buy anything just to get rid of my Genuis as it does not like the new UEFI bios.
 
I saw this and had to reply. I originally had a plain Logitech media keyboard... Nothing fancy, so I took the plunge and got a razor blackwidow ultimate. I read all the good things and thought I would love it. I didn't. If you not using a mechanical kb and wanna take the plunge I suggest you try it out first. Its noisy and I promise you it gets annoying after a while....

I sold it a month later and got myself a Logitech g510. Haven't looked back since!!! Best kb ever!!! :-D

It is a clicky keyboard. The new one (stealth?) Comes with the non-clicky keys.

It is harder to choose the right mech keyboard than just buying a plastic dome keyboard.

Look up the difference between the cherry brown, blue, black and red switches before you buy a mech.

Honestly I don't like the silver bit. If it had all been silver or all black I think it would have looked awesome. Or if the keys were backlit in white would be better. I just don't really dig the 3 tone colour scheme.
