New keyboard?

Hey guys.

I need to get a new keyboard, mine is an old Compaq one from Nineteen-voetsak.

I had a look on zaps, and I am undecided.

I enjoy my online shooters, and have had no issues with my current keyboard. The thing that is irritating me however is play sports games, because I can hold up, right and control and it doesnt bomb, but as soon as I hold up,right, control and a then my pc beeps at me.

Would the lexma be sufficient for my needs?
Anyone have any experience with some cheap but decent keyboards?

I have never seen a Lexma Product that was not of bad build quality tbh
I would rather opt for a decent keyboard such as the Arctosa

Dude give the microsoft x4 or x6 a try.
They are a lot cheaper than other gaming keyboards.
They have back lit keys and anti ghosting.
I think u can press like 10 buttons at once without the pc beeping at you :P

I am just a little skeptical, a couple of reviews say the Arctosa feels cheap. But as the same time, many of those reviews said that was the only thing. The keyboard "feels" cheap...? What do they base that on?

I must say, I have had my Logitech G15 (first ed) for around 5 years and I have never had any issues with it.

My vote would be with Logitech, although I have never really tried anything else..

They base it on how the keyboard feels and looks.
They key presses and so on.
Arcosa is a decent keyboard, i had a tarantula and i loved it! just no back lit keys!

I would be keen on Logitech, they have really upped their quality from a couple of years back. I have a Razer mouse which I love, so I think i'm going to be sticking to a razer for the keyboard.

Yeah i'm not worried about the backlighting, as I say, my current keyboard is so old, i think it was one of the first keyboards that changed from the big ass keyboard jack into the PS/2 slot haha

I've had my Logitech G15 for around 3 years by now as well. It's quite costly but for me it's been worth every penny.

Lexma really does not sound like a good choice to be honest =/

I had a logitec g11 for like 2years(Spilled a brandy on it now backspace doesnt work :) )
It was an awesome keyboard!
They key presses were just a lot harder that on the Razer or the Microsoft X4 but i only found that out once i swapped :)
Id say stick with razer, the quality is worth the price.
But dont go for the cheapest razer, rather invest another 200 bucks and go one level up.

I have had two different Arctosa Keybaords, although mine was the uber leet black on black version
It does not feel cheap at all, decent keyboard for a good price and with the lower profile keyset on it performance was on par with some of my more expensive keyboards

I cant justify spending more money on it. I mean I don't play professionally or anything, and have been using a kak keyboard for 8 years :)

Between the 2 that you have added on your post i would go for the razer. If you would shop around you will find a X6 keyboard for R300+ on special. BT Games had that special a while ago and there was another place i saw that special for R360 i just cant remember where. (does not really help that i post that then hey) But my point is that there are special on that great keyboard. Will edit the post if i remember.

I'll take your word for it Xero, since you always beat me by a couple of kills on the iGame servers :P

The X6 has anti-ghosting and is a great keyboard. If it is too pricey then maybe take a look at the X4.

What is your budget though?

Some suggestions when looking for keyboards:
- Stick to mechanical keyswitches
- stick to ps/2
- don't worry about polling

I agree. The reason why i recommended it is because there are a lot of specials floating around if he does not have to buy tomorrow.

I would gladly look at other keyboards. If you know of any specials please let me know.

I'm very impulsive about these things, if I want something, I want it now hahaha :D

i was also like that but i am not like that anymore because it has cost me R1000s. If i had waited a little while like a day or so i could have saved that money. Now i wait for the specials and do the research before i buy and if there are no specials for a month or so then i would go buy if there were no other choice.(research being: newer or better products coming out etc).
