New Mortal Kombat to feature Kiefier Sutherland Voice Work

Kiefer Sutherland working on new Mortal Kombat game

24 star Kiefer Sutherland will follow up his voice work as Snake in Metal Gear Solid 5 by appearing in the next Mortal Kombat game, he's said.

Sutherland mentioned the currently untitled project in an interview with IGN, during which he said that the role was over "pretty quickly compared to [MGS5]".

"I did Mortal Kombat, and that's such a huge game, but it's so not like [MGS5]," he added.

It's unknown what role he will portray, or how big his contribution will be. Perhaps he's playing Snake, in some bizarre crossover? Perhaps he's playing Jack Bauer.

Injustice: Gods Among Us developer NetherRealm Studios created the last Mortal Kombat title, which was originally released for PC and consoles in 2011. An expanded Komplete Edition launched the following year.

A new Mortal Kombat game was talked of at last year's San Diego Comic-Con, where it was mentioned alongside the prospect of a new Mortal Kombat film.

Bolded part seems most likely even as bizarre as it sounds. Wasn't there some other Playstation character featured in the last game? Kratos or someone... can't remember now.
 
Ja Kratos and Freddie Krueger. The last one was pretty good. I used to play the hell out of the PS2 iterations of the games.
 
I loved MK9, still play it every now and then even own it on two platforms :p Really excited about anything NetherRealm brings to the table.

MK9 was waaaay too legit. It was unfair how good they made it :p. Hopefully they top themselves
 
I'm not a big Mortal Kombat fan (more of a Street Fighter or MvC fan) but if they put in Snake with Kiefier Sutherlands voice, then that would maybe make me get this game:D
 
I lived on the MK arcades back in my school days and when i got my first games system Sega 32Bi i got Ultimate MK 3 man i jammed that for days on end, I had the last MK before injustice and i love it still play it today. so can't wait for the next one hope it's a Col Edition too :)

Well since he is now the voice of Snake in the new MGS games, I don't think it could be anyone other than Snake in MK. I don't see a celeb of his status doing tiny voicework for some random character in a MK game.

After the MK9 and Injustice success, I'm sure that NRS can make a suitable investment towards getting quality voice actors.

This... And also it would be a really small part if it was just him doing one liners for a snake DLC character... I think we will probably get him doing the voice of a character from the game... The new game seems to have a lot to do with Quon Chi... From the way the last one ended...
