New mouse for me time

Well my scroll wheel packed up on my el cheapo so I need a new mouse. I am done with the cheapies and am now looking to go for my first gaming mouse.
Budget is R400 +/-
I have semi large hands but I like to hold the mouse with my whole hand rested on the mouse so it does need to be a bit big.
What suggestions do you guys have for me?

Is the G500 not priced at R600-R800?

I must say I like the look of the Roccat Kova and its in your price range.

Yeah the Kova is what I have been eyeing out, I just don't know how the feel of it is. At the moment I am thinking it is a toss up between that and the x5 from Microsoft

I`m very happy with mine. It`s actually such a shlep to pick a mouse if your
not able to "test drive" it. I ended up buying the X5 cause a friend had one,
and I loved the 2 sides buttons being aligned vertical instead of horizontal
like the others. My thumb doesn`t like the horizontal placing. Very happy with it.

Most fussy when picking my mouse and headphones :wtf:

I have both the X5 and Kova and tbh both have their issues
The X5 is higher off the mousepad than the Kova, while te Kova is slightly broader
For Full hand grips I would Rate the Kova over the MS mouse as with the lower and wider profile you are more likely to be able to rest your entire hand on the mouse body
Kova is Lefty compatible, X5 isn't

If you really REALLY need something that supports your entire hand, take a look at the Prestigio PSG Mouse, it has a section of the mouse body that is interchangeable to support both the pinky and ring finger of your mouse hand and is a fairly decent mouse with two vertical side buttons and an angular wheel, it costs around R390 from Zaps

I tested one of them and tbh they are pretty decent as entry level Gaming Mice

Hey Xero thanks for the suggestion, I am right handed and don't mind at all if a mouse doesn't support left handed people at all.
The Kova is the prettiest that I have seen.
Unfortunately I can't get it shipped in so whatever mouse I go for it has to be in a shop. As far as I know Computer Mania stock the Prestigio mouses so I will take a look there.

Blargh,

Only saw this thread after posting a reply in which you said you won't be making another thread. Lol.

Anywho.

Logitech MX518 :)

Where do you stay?

Ya nobody responded to it, I felt kinda left out so I ended up thinking fuck it why the hell not.

Cape Town, going tomorrow to look around in Cavendish after going to the banks to check out about a business loan

Haha ok :P

I would of sold you a nice mouse if you lived in PE. Logitech make the best gaming mouses by far! You need a decent pad as well.

I use the Razer Mantis Speed Pad with a Logitech MX518, bloody phenomonal (sp).
