New Samsung Galaxy S7

Flex

Will lift for boobs!
How Insane is this?!?
The new Galaxy S7 has a Copper Water Cooling system, and you can tweak graphics setting of games.
It seems like mobile phones, or rather Samsung are definitely moving towards mobile gaming phones, for me it is kind of a waste. because that is not what a use a phone for, as it really chows your battery!
But some people might be very keen on this!

I just read the article on My Broadband, and basically, they making the Camera less mega pixels, adding a micro SD slot, and Giving it the Sony Z5 waterproof treatment with the IP68 rating...

I play Hearthstone on my phone quite often, and I will say that the phone gets quite hot, so the cooling system does intrigue me... But otherwise... It like an S6 "s" having fixed the things they should have done with the S6...

Holy crap.. never even thought the mobile market would go in this direction.
However I'm still waiting on those ARA modular phones.. wonder wtf happened to those.

Gone are the days where I'd be super excited for the next Galaxy phone. The cooling system is cool but other than that there's nothing really groundbreaking. I feel like the mobile market is stagnating.

Same here. I could care less about the latest/greatest. I'll look into which phone when I need a new one. Not before, not after.

Not only that, in the end you pay your service provider R18K+ for bragging rights that last 2 months then it's just another phone and you use it for all the same things you used your last (now 3'rd to 6'th generation thanks to 2 year contracts and new devices coming out so rapidly) phone.

I've noticed that unlike in the past, waiting for 6 months or so after release also does not have any advantage.

Exactly. I moved up each time starting with S1 and eventually realised most of the new features each phones brings (motion controls - does anyone use those? Really curious) have no use in the real world. I'm still going strong with my S4 and unless it breaks or something really revolutionary comes along I don't see myself upgrading again anytime soon.

I got an s5 in April 2 years back, It was semi impulsive as I was looking for new phones and I spotted the advert on vodacom as it came up (S5 with Gear2).
I was lucky enough to get the gear 2 with the phone and it was awesome till it got stolen.

I spent several months using an old nokia, then I used a work android (vodafone thing) for another few months and finally went back to the S4 (got my wife an upgrade, claimed her old phone).

Been happy with it since :)

I am now obviously itching to upgrade simply because it's nearly time to do so but like I have done with my data bundle, thinking of just letting the contract lapse to month to month.

same shit over and over again ! G5 on the other now that im hype about !

Why? the modular thing?

At first I was excited about it then realised it's just more accessories that you buy and can never use on another device and likely will only use on the g5 for a couple of months before the bulk and effort change your mind.

look i'm mostly excited about the innovation of it not to mention you basically carrying spare batteries around with those accessories I can see myself using almost everyone of those accessories, on top of this small things that i really like their fast boot for instance and the dual camera for wide angle shots they may all be small things but for me they at least show that LG is trying to come up with new ideas, i'm not a brand loyalist at all and wasn't happy with the G3 -> G4 upgrade but the G5 has me excited

Yea, I do like the innovation but for me at least the practicality of all these little pieces is not very exciting.
You will need a bag for your phone's accessories :)
Also waiting to see what the pricing and availability of all the bits is going to be.
Being in South Africa I am pretty sure Amazon/Orange/Ebay is going to be the place to buy the bits.

Im genuinely excited about the G5 though all in all i like everything about it and considering how impressed i was with my G3 i'm really looking to this being my next phone so far, upgrade is still a while away, so that opinion could change
