New speakers help?

After a long time spent doing some lurking I would like to say hi again and create another which speakers thread ( my first though). Do you guys think it would be worth it to purchase the logitech x530 set from hifi corp for R600? If not what should I get instead for that price range, doesn't have to be 5.1, just decent sound quality and volume.

Thanks in advance

I have the Logitech X210 set now and they are on the way out, are those the replacements for these?

I have the x530 speakers, the sound quality is good. I tested them playing BF3 and the atmosphere was astounding. R600 is a pretty good deal for any Logitech 5.1 system imo.

I have the Logitech x530's as well. I really do like the speakers, music quality is very good. Just don't buy them from Incredible, they charge R1299 for them. I picked mine up for R750.
But they really shine in the gaming department.

For R600 they are well well worth it, I wouldn't even think twice about it actually. Just go buy them, trust me you won't regret it

Would definitely buy them from hi-fi corp. Have about a R600 budget.

Yeah man do it, Hell if you do tell them I sent you, I owe them lots of money, maybe if they knew I was referring business to them they would knock off some of my debt for my tv lol :)
As I say I spent R750 on mine which was the cheapest I could find at the time so R600 is an awesome price for them.

You think they will be similar to the newer Z506 set for like R200 more ?

When I was searching for my set the Z506 was my alternative as well. I heard that they were pretty much the same and nobody could really tell me if they were wall mountable. Wall mountable to me was the most important factor between them.
For R200 more, honestly I wouldn't do it. With me it was a R50 difference and that wasn't enough to convince me.
I got the 530's and have not regretted my Wall-E's since

Slight spanner in the works, can get the Z506 for R450 new and the Z523 R700. Anyone got any advice on that?

Another +1 on the 530's. My middle speaker doesn't seem to work anymore but other than that they are amazing for the price. Can't comment on the others you mentioned but I imagine they are just as good.

Has logitech done any better on recent models of speakers with proper shielding? I know all the logitech's I've ever encountered would buzz like mad around any cell phones, especially smartphones doing push notifications. Ferrite beads will take care of the problem, but for some reason, logitech doesn't like to use them.

Thanks :) and thanks for the advice, not regretting going with this set at all. Very solid, specially for R600
