*NEW WINNER* Win Dirt Showdown (PC) with AMD

Without gamers, AMD would have little purpose, and to that end, our friends at AMD South Africa have provided three Dirt Showdown PC (Steam) keys to give away to the MyGaming community.

AMD invests time, money and support in developers such as Codemasters to create an optimised gaming experience for AMD hardware.

Head on over to the AMD Facebook page to give it a "Like" and keep up to date with the latest news from the company.

How to enter

Post a paragraph in this thread to tell us about your experience with AMD PC and gaming products.

- Minimum of 20 lifetime posts required to qualify by time of the draw.

- Spamming to get yourself to 20 posts will get you disqualified.

- Reviving old threads and making pointless posts will not be tolerated and will be monitored. Fair warning.

- On Thursday, 28 June 2012, at 11AM, the three winners will be chosen.

My experience would be when I represented MyGaming and AMD during a lan session here in Johburg organized by Organized Chaos during it's first Gauteng hosting session. The team was made up of myself, Tinman, Dr Manhattan and the MD from AMD. We played COD 4, CSS as well as Starcraft II. It was some great fun and we came second out of 4 teams. :)

At first I didn't think that AMD could compete with Nvidia. When my Nvidia card broke a couple of years back, I got a AMD card as a replacement. I was quite shocked to see just how powerful the cards really were. I could not believe that I had been so against them for so long. The day I got to experience just how strong their 3D cards really were they won me over.
 
I used to be completely in the AMD Camp. Still kicking back with 754 socket Semprem 3000+ back in the day. Since I moved over to Core2duo chips I must say I got converted. I think that AMD probably has the best performance/value prospect, but the lure of cool and fast Intel chips. I may actually pick up AMD chip since I have a long overdue upgrade coming up.
 
My current rig is powered by an AMD Phenom X6 1055T, up from 2.8GHz to a Base speed of 3.36GHz (turbo to 3.9GHz). This is coupled with an AMD HD 6870 also running at a slight OC (mem/gpu:100/50) , and 8GB's of DDR3-1280 at CL7 timings. The combination of these parts provides the best Gaming experience at Full HD resolutions, for the lowest cost (Crysis 2 on Ultra). I think that every gamer can appreciate an excellent Price/Performance ratio, and thanks to AMD, that's exactly what we get!:D
 
I've always had a soft spot for AMD cpus, ever since I had my first Athlon which had a 939 pin socket if I recall. It was perfect for gaming, windows development and whatever else I needed to do. The best part is that this never cost me an arm and a leg, it was always an affordable option and has always had the best value / performance ratio in my opinion.

Recently Intel might control the higher end spectrum, but I'm still rocking AMD, my spare pc is running the relatively newer Athlon II and my gaming rig has a much quicker quad core Phenom II x4 955BE :D
 
I have always been an Nvidia fan but my current Card is a AMD and I must say I was really impressed! I love my card and AMD is doing a great job at keeping High End hardware quite afordable! When I upgrade again I am going to have a hard time choosing what card to buy as AMD has made a great impression!
 
To be honest I am still a fan of AMD and when I was in the process of upgrading my pc, I was so excited to get the new AMD bulldozer the 1st 8 core CPU. Although it let itself down in the long run it still its graphics cards have still managed to give you high quality products for a for a fraction of the price. Keeping Nvidia on its toes. Keep up the good work and keep bringing the competition to its oppositions.
 
currently running an AMD Phenom 2 X4 on and Asus mobo with 2x ATI HD4890s in Xfire..
One of the most powerful systems i have ever used. My old Core 2 Quad just couldnt keep up with the X4 so it got sold to pay for the Mobo :p
As for the cards, i used to be a major Nvidia fanboy... then i got a 5750 ati from a mate then upgraded to the crossfire setup soon after and havnt looked back.
 
I've always been with intel and Nvidia, but I did consider AMD at one point. But then one of my friends radeon cards broke (in hindsight he did treat his pc like dirt). After that I was too scared to switch.
 
My current system has been one of the most reliable PC's I've built. Currently running AMD 1055t x6 @ 3.5ghz with an AMD/ATI 5850. I've always been fan of AMD's CPU and always supported them because of their great price and performance.
 
My best ever processor (many moons ago) was the AMD DX2-66, we overclocked it till is was running red (need to find those photos) and it still worked. The days when you only need a "HB Potloot" to overclock yourself into oblivion ;) Now I have a Radeon 6850 stuck into a AMD black edition motherboard with the Phenom II x4 Black edition, overclocking is a dream, performance is tops and all this for almost half the price than the "others". Thanks AMD !
 
My only experience of AMD was on a laptop and I was quite surprise by its performance. Being so used to Nvidia for more than a decade the AMD was more of a off chance experiment. Its good enough to play the latest games so I am happy with it.
 
Ive experienced AMD desktop pc and ran games flawlessly and was quite smooth even though graphics wasnt the best the AMD CPU made up for it.
 
well i have always been a big intel fan, until i bought a amd laptop that changed my mind, i love my amd laptop, i dont have a problem to play most of the new games that need far more requirements that my little laptop has.
 
My very first Single Core was AMD.
My very first Dual Core was AMD.
My Current Quad Core is AMD.

I've been a fan of AMD since I can remember...
I've grown up, and been living with AMD since I was a kid.
It's been like a pet dog... Always been around, and can never find a replacement.

They're cheaper... Value for money... And reliable.
 
My First graphics card was a Radion 9250 that thing lasted me 4 years even with some overclocking experimentation, after that I went through a range of Nvidias (peer pressure) and pieces of shit in various types of fail, finally went back got a HD4650 and finally a HD6770, I'm a ATI (now AMD) fan through and through, they never let me down (touch wood)

Edit: oh if I remember correctly my first PC I built had an AMD CPU
 
I have only ever owned ATI cards which 2 of them were under the AMD brand because of AMD buying them out.
I have only had 2 AMD cpu's, currently have an Intel.
All my gpu's I have been impressed with and the cpu's have both served very well with the amount of money that I paid. Its just a pity when needing a long term cpu solution the only way to really go is Intel with AMD's latest offerings being more bang for buck rather then performance.
 
I was always skeptic of gaming on a laptop, but I last year I was going to get a laptop with nvidia 540m but then got HP Pavilion with AMD 6740m and the gaming performance was better than expected. :D
