New Witcher 2 details revealed

Gief NOW!

I hope this game turns out well and garners enough support to make it worth their while to make more RPG's in general.

Give it to me and give it to me now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An interview can be found here.

Onlinewelten: What about those 16 different endings you were talking about at the gamescom presentation? It seems to be quite hard and extensive to implement something like this.

Tomasz Gop: Not if you’re working on TSOOD! :-) But yeah, of course – if you were to draw the diagram of storyline from both parts of The Witcher and compare them, the one from second part would be have many times more branches. We just tried to take all places from The Witcher where you for example kept running around, doing “fetch me this and that from here and there” quests and replace it with pure non-linearity. And wow, you know what – it worked! The game really got way more immersive.

I bought the Enhanced edition, played for about 4-5 hours and haven't touched it since. The "Sex" felt shallow, like something dreamt up by a pre-pubesent teen, and there where just too many of the same people in differnt outfits with the same boring voices. Everytime i think about picking it back up I remember that Demon's Souls is a far better Dark Fantasy RPG and play that instead... sad story considering how many ppl claim the Witcher is "the shit"....

Witcher is the better Dark Fantasy RPG IMO. Demon's Souls is brilliant and everything, but it can't touch the Witcher. I am a huge Demon's Souls fan, it is my number 2 game of all time, but the Witcher remains number 1. Demon's Souls might have the better combat, but the Witcher's world and non-linear story makes it the winner IMO.

I hear what you guyz are saying but for some reason It just didn't grab me. Couldn't maintain my interests for a prolonged period of time. Maybe at some point ill give it another go.

So many factors can come into play, one large one being ones mood. If you are just not in the mood for a specific game it can ruin it for you. You don't have to like it, many do not I am sure. It's not like the game does not have its issues that's for sure.

Personally I was in the mood for an indepth RPG that had a rich world, so the game was a great fit. For me the largest pull was not the gameplay necessarily, but rather the world and its feel.
