New XBOX 360 - availability in South Africa

So for those of you asking when the new "Stealthbox" 360 will be available in South Africa; Apparently, according to a reliable sauce, sometime in September at the earliest. My thinking is that they're going to try and hold out on us until December 2010 for some weird reason...probably to try and sell the old stock as much as possible first.
 
Interesting... Microsoft's official line has been "awaiting confirmation." I guess that could mean "we don't know exactly yet" or "we're still deciding when exactly."

I don't think they'll hold on all the way to December, though. Rumour has it that there'll be a $199 model out (and therefore announced) by (our) spring this year and we'll be getting Kinect December. The yanks already have their Stealthboxes and are waiting until November for Kinect.

I reckon Microsoft SA will have Stealthbox+Kinect bundles for their holiday sales, so Christmas sales aren't a factor, methinks. Old stock... If we don't get a firm release date from Microsoft SA soon I'll prod Nic to ask them about that :-)
