I'm so up to speed with specs as I used to be, but I'm pretty sure for that price, the graphics card will be a mid-range one. for newer games, it might be worth choosing a bigger GPU. I'm sure others here can give much better advice on that than me though.

Nice free upgrade to 4GB RAM. Make sure they do that

Bear in mind, there is no operating system included, so unless you have a copy of Windows you can use, you'll have to cough up for that as well. Anti-virus too

Just one point Dual Core CPU's is k but will not last long try and get at least a quad core.

Hi Matt

Thanks for the heads up I never even thought about a operating systems I will need to get that then as well, I dont even know what a GPU is but I want a pc that I can play most games on and online playing as well so I will wait for some more advice on that but thanks alot for your imput

Problem is on a 5K budget, you probably won't get a super duper GPU and Quad-Core CPU.

If you want a performance rig, you'll probably have to up the budget somewhat. Try for an i5 or i7 processor (or whatever's the AMD equivalent seeing as you're looking at AMD) if you can

EDIT:
I dont even know what a GPU is
Sorry, being a bit loose with the old acronyms there
GPU = Graphics Processing Unit = Graphics card
CPU, in case you're wondering about that = Central Processing Unit = Processor

Well I'd spend the bulk of the cash on the CPU and GPU. Granted R5000 isn't all that much when you wanna build a gaming rig.
and +1 to Matt, you need at least a Quad core, to future proof yourself.

Asus P8H61-MLE/USB3 R763
Core i5 2400 R1545
Kingston 4GIG DDRIII 1333 R226
Gainward GTX550Ti 1GB 192-bit R1366
Seagate 500GB SATA3 R 353
Huntkey Greenpower 550W R 376
Coolermaster Elite Cool Case R 314

Total R4943

I've found it's usually better to source the parts and build your own machine than buying a pre-built one. It can work out cheaper, and you can allocate the bulk of the money to the parts that are more important to you. Eg, personally, I would rather spend more money on a better processor or graphics card than a fancy case with lots of perspex and neon lights, so long as there's enough space in it and decent cooling.

Also maybe save a little more and try getting yourself a 560 rather, its roughly R500 more expensive but it is a much better card compared to the 550.

Ok that has given me a lot to think about thanks for all the help, I think the best will be when I am ready and have the cash I will post and ask if some one might come with me to advcie on what to get and maybe to help build it

Hey, I think a better question is what type of games you play or will be playing?

might help classify what kind of specs you require with your budget..

I am reading everwhere about overlocked WTF is this?

I think you mean overclocked. In simple terms, making your processor or graphics card run faster than it's supposed to.
Best not to mess with it if you don't know what you're doing, and if you don't have good cooling though

True that, everyone here would obviously push for a heavy-weight machine that can run the newest games on max settings, but you should be able to play most games on lower settings with a mid-range pc as well

Good point, I ma new to gaming I would lke to play some online first person shooters like Quake, or alien vs preditor I know these are old titles but like I said I am new to gaming maybe some war craft, I dont even know what games are out there, I dont thin I will be doing the most hard core gaming, then I would just like to do some general internet suring and playing some movies and music. I have not had a nice computor for every long so I dont think I will be to hardcore in the biggining

Athlon X2 is old tech. Bulldozer should be out in a month or two and by all accounts flattens (pun intended) Sandy Bridge. Also don't know what a nVidia equivalent would be but can't really go less than an AMD (old ATI) HD6850 now.
