Newest batch of Fermi benchmarks, a lot more comprehensive.

Extreme pricing? $500 for a card that sits halfway between a 5870 and a 5970 is just about right I think.

Geesh the figures in the GTX480 SLi mark seem insane. If I was going to go for this card, I'd go for the SLI option too, but I don't know if my PSU can handle it! lol

Hey guys,

Some new benchies have surfaced, supposedly from someone who's friend is under the NDA. It's a lot more comprehensive.

Fermi still looking to be a fair bit faster than the 5870.

Check them out here:

Its a reference/marketing bench straight from Nvidia, so it has to be taken with a grain of salt. That said, while those reference benches are normally a little "boosted", its never anything too drastic.

So, I think it is quite safe to say at this point the 480 is going to be faster than the 5870, but we knew it would be. I'm going to guess that its going to be between 5-10%, maybe 15% faster depending on the app/game. We should be able to get definitive benches tomorrow after the unveiling.

ATI is in a pretty strong position right now after having their 5xxx range of cards out for such a long time already, I wouldn't be shocked to see them bring out the 5890 and do some pricing adjustments.

Its going to be an interesting year. I think NVidia and ATI are both gearing for some fierce competition, more so than previous years where NVidia had the upper hand for a long time running.

Mmm.. I might wait for them to bring out hi performance card before I start the ATI vs Nvida thing.
