Do you guys remember these two games? Need for Speed 2 Special Edition and Star Wars Episode 1 Racer? Some of my greatest gaming experiences come from these two games in the 90's.. (I feel old when I say that)

Need for Speed was teh first racing game I ever played, had loads of fun on it.. My cousin and I used to play split screen and race each other with the FZR2000 and McLaren F1.. Had great fun on the tracks as well. Lost resort being my favourite..

We also had loads of fun with the cheats.. Pioneer being our favourite.. Also used slot a lot and that t-rex thing.. Made life interesting.

Here are some nice shots:

Star Wars Episode 1: Racer introduced me to Star wars, in a very good way. Playing as Anakin Skywalker and trying to defeat the awesome Sebulba.. Had some real good times with this. Reaching speeds of 400km/h + it was really enjoyable..

It made a really good intro to Star Wars for me..

Anyways hope you enjoyed my post.. May not be much for you but it certainly made my childhood fun

thanks

And BTW, Happy Star Wars Day! May the Fourth be with you!

Wow, that brought back some memories.

I loved the Pod-racer game. It was essentially Wipeout in the Star Wars universe, and that was great.

My memory of the graphics is that they were better than in the screenshots... How far we have come.

I agree dude. I remember them differently. But then you have to remember the days we played them they looked good :p

My first PC was a P2.. Had 4MB graphics memory if I remember correctly.. That was something back in the day.. With a 20GB Hard drive which I still have :D.. Now we are getting 4GB graphics cards, tech truely has excelled in the past two decades or so..

NFS 2 SE was one of the best NFS games in the NFS Series it was the last one that had videos of each car and it had some of the best cheats like typing in hollywood in the main menu gives you an extra track in hollywood with a dinosaur and the hidden cars like the fzr 2000 (that could do over 420km/h)the tombstone (which could barely turn) and the bomber (which was a classic from the 50s)

back in those days i was envious of everyone that had voodoo cards cause they where able to run the game with a hardware renderer which looked flippin orsome. Oh Mystic peaks is still one of the best tracks ever in a racing game in my opinion.

My first NFS had drifting tracks and stuff and don't remember the graphics being that bad I guess when you playing it in those days it feels and looks good.

Imagine what we will think of our current games 20 years down the line when we got holograms and virtual reality games.

LOL, I remember playing NFS2SE and was able to race as a log...how legend was that!
But, my fav NFS has to be Porsche Unleashed with my racing wheel playing till 4am most weekends to clock it...such a classic! I had those cars fine tuned to suite every track.

I still remember playing need for speed with my brother when we were younger i would always control the gears and handbrake and he the steering. Have some really good memories of that game :)
