Nintendo Game Prices

So I was wandering around a shopping mall looking for possible Wii games to buy thinking they might be a good price because they are old.

In all the shops I went to I found their meager excuse for a Nintendo section and the prices are ludicrous.
I understand the high prices for WiiU games as they are newer, but these Wii games have literally been sitting on the shelves since they came out and they are still going for things like R499, R599 etc...

Newer PS2 and even Xbox 360 games are going for way cheaper than that.

Is this a result of the South African retailers not caring, or Nintendo charging a hell of a lot?

Shop around more. I only pick up games for sub R200, picked up Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS at Makro on Saturday for R199. It normally goes for R399 - R499.

It's mostly Nintendo's fault. They hardly ever drop their game prices.
Have a look on AmazonUK etc, the price of older Nintendo games are still pretty damn high.

This is exactly why I sold my 3DS XL and bought a vita. Surprised Nintendo are still around with the prices of their games.

I really don't know what you guys are on about. I've bought about 12 3DS/DS games since I bought my 3DS XL console about a month ago and the most I've paid for any game was R199 which was for the new Sonic & all-stars racing transformed 3DS from Makro (brand new).

I bought four brand new 3DS games from Dion Wired for R100.

If you shop around more you will find great bargains, don't expect the bargains to come to you.

I was looking for Wii games. The ones like Zelda, Mario Galaxy are all a lot. Mario Galaxy is R249 which I think is a bit much. And Zelda was going for over R400

Strange because I had my 3DS for over 8 months and the only deal I ever found was Dion Wired special and I got zelda and lego for R100 each. Other than that I can't say I have seen any other specials and trust me, I look.

DS Civilization Revolution, Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon, Guitar Hero On Tour, Legend of Zelda - Spirit Tracks, Super Mario 64

3DS Kid Icarus Uprising, Legend of Zelda - Ocharina of time, Lego pirates of the Caribbean, Need for speed the run, Paper Mario Sticker Star, Sonic & all-stars racing transformed, Tetris, Ultimate Bass Fishing 3D

Those are all of my titles and the most I've paid was R199 fro Sonic & all-stars.

If you are looking for specific games you will have to go to various stores and find out where you can get them on special. You can also look at second hand stores and second hand aisles etc. You can't compare the price of a specific game against the price of a broad range of games from another console. It will obviously favour the broader range.

They did have quite a few specials on ds and 3ds games last month in Incredible Connection for a reasonable price and I dont actually mind paying R350+ for my 3ds/DS, since I get the preorder special which is cheaper than the shops.

Its not like the Xbox/PS3 prices are cheaper than the 3ds/ds or even Wii U games half the time.

The game prices are also really getting me down :< I know Incredible Connection constantly have random specials on the games, but it is almost never advertised anywhere :<

I seem to see specials everytime I pop into IC, BT Games and other shops, but sadly nothing on what I want.

I managed to pick up a used copy of Resident Evil 4 Wii edition from BT games for R59.90. I am saving a copy of Mad World (R50) and ordered a copy of Metroid Prime trilogy for R99 from work (It's arriving this week).

The other BT games branch of our has Pandora's Tower Special edition (used) for R199.90 i'm going to check it out this weekend.

What I really wanted is Xenoblade Chronicles and Okami but Amazon.co.uk does not ship games to RSA :(
We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order by changing its quantity to 0 and clicking the update button below. Learn more

I also noticed the trend of charging R249 for Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy (I would still have it if my mother did'nt mistake all my wii games for PC games and give them away :()

Skyward Sword is still going on for R499+

***Edit

If amazon stocks the game they can send it to you, if it's a third party seller. You are out of luck.

Geez Wyzak, what a shopper, if you find a good price on Sticker Star again lemme know.
Also Games I need to get at some point(but cannot spend that much on right now) is Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

I'm also looking for animal crossing new leaf at the moment. But I am in Germany at the moment, so I might be able to pick up some games here when I hit the shops tomorrow :)
