Nintendo pirate off to prison

I know this is a mega commercial giant with stupid region coding but well done. These pirates screw the economy over so he deserves it.

Not sure how a pirate effect the economy,if someone pirates a game then they probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place.One pirate isn't exactly going to change anything.Heck i wouldn't be surprised if at least 70% of the internet gaming user base has at least pirated one game.

Edit:I probably should have read the article,didn't know he was selling them for gain.

These guys aren't registered tax payers so I have to use an SA context but the won't charge VAT nor income tax. This defrauds government on money that can be used to increase spending which will help growth. Also he is taking money from legitimate businesses who are contributing to the economy.

You find a similar thing with those chinese stores, they hire family, don't register for tax purposes and ship money out the country, effectively an economic cash leak. Normally profits are made and reinvested in growth, expansion, jobs etc which doesn't happen with these back door "salesman".

Does that make sense now?
