No character classes in The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

Cooool! I really like the idea of evolving your character as you go. Really looking forward to this game, even though it will be the first Elder Scrolls game that I will really be playing.

So it’s a really, really nice elegant system that kind of self-balances itself.

Yes, I remember how elegant it was when I had to jump around on the spot for half an hour to raise my acrobatic skill in Oblivion

This reminds me of Fable1 where you had all 3 classes in one. I actually rather enjoyed that...

Where there character classes in Oblivion and morrowind? I wish they had taken out creature leveling.

There were. The only thing they really did was make your primary skills level up faster and your character level-up was based on primary skill level-ups.

You can level your secondary skills to max, but it takes a lot longer than primary skills. Simply put, you can create a mage and then learn to fight with swords, but you will be bad at it and take a lot longer to get good.

Oh, i thought it was a matter of choosing your primary skills, i dont remember actually choosing a class. It was so long ago!

You had a number of classes available with preset skills. In Oblivion the guard recommended a class to you once you completed the tutorial, but you had the ability to choose another. In Morrowind you could get a class recommendation by answering questions from the NPC. You can also create your own class by selecting which skills is your primary skills, which is probably what a lot if players do.
