No dedicated servers for Modern Warfare 3 - Report

Colour me suprised :rolleyes:
oh well didn't buy MW2, weren't planning to buy MW3 .. and news like this just concretes my decision.

As per above, bring on BF3!
 
A lot of people who are going to complain about the lack of dedicated servers are still going to buy it. Actually, with this being a CoD game it will go just like the previous ones:
People will moan and complain about this and that and then go buy it.
Then they will moan and complain about tit an tat and still play it.

OK wait. Let me get this straight...they are going to be CHARGING people to play premium multiplayer...but they don't give dedicated servers...they rather use the money on what, that useless TV series thing? Are you KIDDING ME!? Idiots.
 
I didn't really have problems with MW2 with regards to peer to peer hosting. I took the wait and see aproach, I waited till the game was out and most of the problems were sorted before deciding if I'd buy it or not. Which I'll do this time as well.
 
It would be nice to see which people will still be wanting to get MW3 after all this... Maybe a Poll would be an idea to see if MyGaming people are still interested... and I agree with Solitude... They will all still go and buy the game and pay for the Elite Subscription and complain about paying so much money a month and getting nothing in return.

This was always on the cards, go read the first announcements on MW2 and you'll se that they have started implementing what they always said they were going to.
 
I bought MW2 to see what the fuss was about and I bought Black Ops to see how that was different. I will not be buying MW3. My Curiosity is OVER.
 
Sad thing is I will still end up buying and playing this :|

I love these threads :) Dedicated servers are a thing of the past. The new gaming model needs SALES! Sales come from the console market and therefore there is no need for dedicated servers. The console players usually also complain a LOT LESS than PC gamers so it makes it more viable to develop for them instead of PC gamers.

I think it would be great if we saw a bigger move towards "subscription" based online gaming. That would force the developers to at least listen to their audience.

I still think this will be a huge hit, financially speaking.

I just hope it doesn't push more COD players over to Battlefield :(
 
Nothing new here. Who ever thought they getting Dedicated servers for any new MW clearly doesn't follow any gaming news.

Then just as the game is about to start and the timer counts down, have lobby time out, then reconnect only to get host migration upon entering the map, then host migration failed. Repeat cycle for 20 minutes. Eventually find a game, and ooh what's this, I'm on 2 Red ping bars cause magically my entire clan has 10mb with 1mb upload but it chooses a host in Kenya off a 56K dialup modem. Host refuses to leave, so we sit with a lagtastic game untill map end. Next map comes Pietie van Tonder of Danville east sitting with a purchased hack, laughing with his 3rd year grade 7 buddy next to him hacking the kak out of all the players, while infinity ward "ENSURES FAIR AND DECENT QUALITY PLAY BY HANDLING ALL THE HACKERS THEMSELVES, and assuring us that we will see less hackers than on self owned and monitored dedicated servers."
This was especially evident in a couple of games I played in MW2 where the hackers were having a fanny tiff with each other because the one was out-hacking the other. MW3 and P2P R TEH L337
 
LOL COD4MW will probably stay the best ive never became a pro at it but since it so scarce in the current titles ima start becoming a pro at Leaning.

Always thought its funny when u see heads pop around the corner LOL

i sat for hours wiating for games more than i played

P2P just cannot work on the PC, far too many variables

well thanks MW3, you made my desicion on playing BF3 far more easier, this is very sad, they didnt learn from the past, but oh well its on the PC okes that run into problems so stuff them right?
