It's a very chilled game of exploration. At least from what I've played so far.

Make sure to switch off v-sync and increase the fps setting.

Reddit overhyped this game for themselves so much, it's hilarious. I'm... borrowing a copy to see if it run on my machine at all, before I buy.
 
As long as they fix it and add more stuff later, I am cool with the game. Just hoping it actually works on my average system.
 
Works fine on my system but my brother is experiencing the white screen crash at the startup logo. Hopefully they patch it soon.

For the sake of interest, what are Hoo's system specs nowadays? How does your basic hardware configuration compare to your brother's?
 
I feel like I really lucked out on my starting planet. Not only was it resource rich, I was greeted by a whole herd of local wildlife right at the beginning.

Here is a shot of the herd, and of the very first animal species I identified.

Only had half an hour or so to take a quick look around last night, but certainly didn't notice any of the major issues that are flooding the Steam reviews at the moment. Going to try a little more now, after apply suggestions to change framerate to MAX, set borderless mode to allow Alt+Tabbing, and turn off V-Sync.

Did grab screens of my initial starting planet. I give you Reddonia:

The day - night transition happened after I managed to get myself killed by the sentinel bots within the first 5 mins of my look around.
 
Funny enough, its working fine on my average system. I just tweaked it with changing to borderless full screen, removing Gsync and upping the max FPS
 
I still haven't left the first planet. How big are these planets? I can't leave knowing that there's more things to discover.

I should probably just leave.

One thing this game can really do with is a map!

Oh and I'm doing my utmost to increase my inventory space. Looking for pods like crazy.
 
Same. Still on starting planet looking for 2 last species. I did leave the planet briefly when my wanted level hit 5 thinking it may reset, only to be immediately attacked and destroyed by sentinel ships. Respawned from a spaceship, couldn't for the life of me find the site of my earlier demise to reclaim my inventory, so headed back to the planet with an empty ship. Now I'm stuck on foot because I can't find bloody platinum to fuel the thrusters.

10/10 will do another 5 hour straight play session soon.


100% agree with the needs a damn map! Also, anyone able to tell me how to find or craft an Atlas Pass? Keep finding containers that need one to be opened but can't figure out how to make them it find them.

If you interacted with the red atlas orb next to your ship at the starting location then you just need to follow the basic missions until you get to an Atlas station. There is an orb on that station that will give you the schemetatic to craft your first pass.
