No Man's Sky

I played two nights ago and died. See, I landed on a planet and it was magnificent. The sentinels were all aggro and there are lots of valuable ball stuff lying over the place. But I wanted to lift off again and this where the trouble started. There were some boulders in the air above me suddenly. As in right above my ship. I didn't see it when I landed and I didn't see it when I wanted to take off. But when I did take off my ship got stuck between the ground and these flying boulders. I couldn't land, I couldn't fly away. I could only see the screen shake as I watch my ship explode.

So last night I played something else. Will get back to NMS again tonight though.

I've got bad news for you. The same thing happened to me once and I respawned right underneath the same rock, so it happened twice in a row. Unless they've patched the issue you're likely going to have to find a way to mine that rock. Lucky in my case the rock was close enough that I could get it with my multitool.

Has anyone else had a problem where, when trying to scan all the possible fauna on a planet, you can't find that last damn animal? Really I have looked everywhere, I just need one more stupid animal for 300 000 credits and it's nowhere. I have checked in caves, on top of those floaty land island things, in the sky. I just keep running into the same animals. Does anyone have any tips?

Just scan the whole environment with your scanner, not just when you see an animal. The scanner will mark places where animals are that you may not be able to see with the naked eye. Its not a full solution, but it helps a lot.

I have done this numerous times, in many, many different places.

I just thought maybe there was a trick to it that I was missing, like finding hidden biomes or only checking during the night/day. I don't know. Anyway, thanks.

This might also help, creatures are listed by biome that they are found in.

I did not know this...is that accurate for all planets?

Yeah sorry that's the only trick I have in finding animals. That and sheer determination. Good luck with that last bloody sighting.

It works for planets where the biomes exist. The problem is, if a planet is short of one those biomes then you got a problem trying to place them in those categories.

Thank you Shrike, this actually helped. The one creature that I was missing was the first one on the list, so I assumed that it was a Plains creature. After roaming the planet for 1.5 hours (on foot), I found the little bastard, roaming the plains. The little sh*t attacked me, but scanned that fudger.
