No noticable difference between Crysis 2 on PS3 and Xbox 360

I'm downloading the PS3 demo right now and while I cant make comparisons to the Xbox version it will give me an idea of how it looks compared to the PC demo. :)

About 1.5GB. Played a couple matches now and it's pretty cool, when you can get into a match. Sometimes I just sit in the lobby for minutes before it gives me an error, other times I get into a match within seconds. I can see what people are complaining about regarding the visuals. It doesn't look kak or anything but the resolution is really crap. I hope the demo is not the final build and that it looks sharper in the full game. Will still buy the game regardless of how it looks in the final game though.

The only differences I can see by the naked eye, walk-by past the screen mode, is that the Xbox version is lighter and the PS3 version is darker.

Maybe I missed some setting somewhere, but thats really the only catching difference to the naked eye at normal viewing distance.

And even that difference is quite friggin small. Took me at least 3 walk-by's before it really sunk in.

Well if you keep following the links to the original site then you'll see images that show a distinct difference. The PS3 version is very blurry and the textures aren't as sharp as on the 360.

If playing games with your nose right up against the screen is your method, then yes, the screenshots show exactly what you are saying.

If however, like normal people, you play a few meters away from the screen, the screenshots are the biggest waste of time since yoga.

well... imax at home is nose right up against the screen :D

Well after much struggle I managed to get into a game last night and yes, it does look fairly blurry and is not running full 720p. Compared to the PC version (I know it's not fair :p) it's not nearly as impressive.

The controls are also not too great, Killzone 3 has a much smoother feeling to the controls.

But this is all for naught, since they are removing the demo from PSN. :(

After playing the demo for about 5 hours now, I am rather disappointed that they are removing it from PSN. I'm having a great time with the demo and have no complaints regarding the visuals. Yes, the resolution is blurry and there is pop-in when you respawn, but who cares? The game is a hell of a lot of fun and the nanosuit really does make for some interesting tactics. I also have no problems with the controls whatsoever. I cannot wait for payday to pick this up.

I noticed that for some reason, the suite doesn't feel as visceral as in the PC demo, but that could just be related to the framerate. It is too bad they removed it, I still wanted to play some more to get a better feel for the controls. :(

If you have the option though, then PC version is the one to get.

I was having lots of sound problems with the PS3 demo. Not once did I hear my own gun fire but I could hear everyone elses, and at times there was complete silence.

IMO that was not a demo but more like some beta code.

Unfortunately my crappy PC will never handle Crysis 2, it probably can't even handle the first game properly so PS3 it is for me. As I've said before I'm buying the game mostly for SP, but now that I've played the MP I will definitely be putting time into that when the game releases as well. Haven't played the PC demo so I can't say how the suit compares but it feels pretty visceral to me. Nothing like leaping across the rooftops and taking out enemies while in the air. Armour mode has also saved my ass a couple of times. I really didn't notice the framerate issue everyone is complaining about, but that might be as a result of my years playing PC games on a minimum spec PC at +- 15 fps. Also had no issue with sound not being there.
