No way, even if every person in South Africa signs the petition, the Eskom price hike is not a democratic decision. It's a company upping their prices!

And just think about the extra amount of money the gavvameent will make from all the tax, i mean, 150% price increases means that the gavvameent will get 150% more tax from everyone that buys electricity... and I promise you that's a shitload....

Example: I spend around R500 per month on electricity, that's about R70 tax, and it will go up by 150% to about R175... that's R105 from just me extra!!! Times that by all the other households in SA (that actually pays for electricity)
 
My 2c

According to Rapport on Sunday, they are selling to neighbouring countries at a loss.
The only sector they are making money is, residential and I think farming.

A petition will not help. It is useless. Only thing that will perhaps help is, taking to the streets... But I for one cannot behave like a hooligan...

So we should get a proper government in place... That is our only hope. Eskom knew what was coming to them.
