Okay been playing some fallout nw, The bureau xcom declassified and metro 2033.
But my laptop at the side is getting insanely hot while playing it I am looking into getting a notebook cooler but have no idea where to start and what to look for. Playing on a table not on my lap :P Also since this is the Northern Cape it gets hot here atm its 28 plus and we just started with spring.

Zaps seems to have the largest selection in one spot but I can't seem to find 15.6" sized ones only 14-15.4" and 17+"

Most laptop USB coolers are rubbish because the fans are just not powerful enough to cool the laptop. I would recommend trying to find one that draws power from a socket as that means it is a more powerful fan and can push more air. Maybe try build your own?

USB can work out well too. Remember you're not really trying to cool the actual components...just shuffle the air around a bit so that the actual laptop fans don't pull in warm air.

Often just lifting it off the desk can do wonders.

I use the cooling fan I got from Incredible Connection which works, but there's some cool ones on ebay with 3-4 fans instead of one with usb powered.

I find if I don't use one my laptop goes slow in games after a while and may shutdown.

Yeah mine also have a overheat protection in so it does not fry it normally restarts.

Get on cracking then :p
A custom cooler will still peform better than a commercial one...usually...

Lol but since I am not close to home commercial is a faster option atm.

I have this one: http://store.antec.com/Product/notebookcooler/notebook-cooler-200/0-761345-75019-6.aspx

It uses USB power, and it's fine.

The main thing is raising the laptop up and getting some airflow underneath, where the intakes usually are.

I see Zaps doesn't list this particular Antec cooler; look for something that is sturdy and has good airflow. Having the laptop raised up but on a surface that doesnt' encourage airflow nullifies the point. I find that the larger fans are better, they make less noise and still do the job of getting air to flow around the laptop.

Something like this for example: http://www.zapsonline.com/notbook-c...-l1-black-full-meshed-17-notebook-cooler.html
