Nvidia Gameworks levels the dev field for Linux, OSX, Android platforms

This could open the game dev industry to more Indie developers which is a great thing. Also, Tegra 5 will make the Tablet/Phone market a viable handheld alternative and create greater competition. This is good for us as some people cannot afford High-end PC's or even consoles but can get a phone or tablet on contract.

I would also venture and say that this tech will make it possible, in time, for modders to maybe create user generated content for games much faster and easier. I will most definitely be giving this a try some time down the line.

Gameworks is now available to interested developers to implement in their games. Almost all technology available in Gameworks works on Geforce graphics cards only.

When he says Geforce only, is he talking about the technology that ports the game or the game itself?

Probably the game itself. You could probably port any game that uses AMD/ATI or GeForce cards with this but the ported game will only work on GeForce cards... If that makes sense. :-)

So this makes it a bit more exclusive as developers will be developing only for Nvidia cards rather than for AMD/ATI as well.

It applies to tech like Physx, Waveworks and Flameworks, as far as I'm aware. While things like Faceworks, HBAO and GI Lighting can run on AMD and Intel graphics, it won't run as well compared to a Geforce card, because Nvidia includes optimisations for their products to run their tech better.
