Nvidia/Intel vs AMD

OK so firstly this is meant as a Nvidia/Intel vs AMD debate, but please stay civil, and give logical and rational arguments.
I've always been an Intel and Nvidia fan, but lately I've been seeing quite a lot of people saying that AMD isn't as bad as I used to think. So everyone knows that Intel and Nvidia are more expensive for what you get(it seems) but I wanted to know if there are any major drawbacks to using AMD(like driver or performance issues, overheating etc)

From personal experiences, AMD has always overheated for me, so I've been using Intel ever since. Although I should say that the Radeon Graphics cards are getting awesome now, and I'm starting to prefer them to my under performing nVidia cards

So atm I am running:

i7 2600k SandyBridge
EVGA Nvidia 570GTX HD

The CPU I can't fault at all. Runs like a king and literally even with all my multitasking I have yet to see it lag or even hit 100% on all 4 cores.

The Nvidia card I am not very impressed with. The drivers crash every now and then on Battlefield 3 and WoW... WoW has almost no graphics so that is just weird.

I am definitely going to be looking at Radeon/AMD next time again. I had a Sapphire 4870 HD 512 for a few years and man that thing ran like a beast.

Now I have heard WAY too many horror stories of AMD CPUs overheating so badly that it damages the motherboard and when you are running a R2000 Mobo you don't want that to happen. So I am definitely not a AMD fan when it comes to that and also I had a AMD CPU in the past that didn't really hold up to all the wonderful stories.

So I am still partial to Nvidia with Intel, but my next upgrade will be Intel and AMD(graphics)
