Nvidia unveils GTX Titan - "world's fastest GPU"

Liewe BLIKSEM!

I can't wait to see the benchmark figures on this puppy!!

Unfortunately I cannot justify adding a R10,000+ graphics card into my PC when all of the "good" games these days are coming out on consoles. And with the launch of the PS4 and XBOX720 around the corner, it makes even less sense. Especially when you consider that you'd probably be able to buy both the new XBOX720 and PS4 for the same price as this single GPU.

The benchmark figures on this will have to be mind-blowing at the very least.

What PC games do you guys think justifies a card like this? Besides the upcoming Crysis 3, is there any upcoming PC title coming out that would warrant you to invest this much into your PC?

Yeah, I have to agree. It makes it hard to justify spending that kind of money when the focus of gaming is pushing more and more towards the consoles.

Can't wait to see the benchmarks for that card...

With specs like that... You'll officially have bragging rights. :)

Nvidia: The Way It's Meant To Be Played:D

My HD7950 will have to do for at least 1 more year. By then a BETTER Amd gpu should be out

My first GPU was a Radeon 9600. Ironically however, my first Nvidia GPU (which was the one I got next; after the Radeon) was a GeForce 9600 GT OC. Since then, it was strictly Nvidia. I may have to switch (GPUs) soon. This one's crawling without legs :o

I've been reading some more about this card on tom's hardware. The reviewer wasn't allowed to give figures yet due to embargo rules, but it doesn't look promising. He made comments about how the card is good "for its size" and that it only makes sense if you want to build a smaller form-factor PC with good GPU performance, or, if you have a boat load of cash to buy 2 or even 3 of these.

So from what I'm deducing the card is:

Very fast for its size
Scales really, really well when paired with more of them.

However, it's not going to be faster than a GTX690 (yes, it's a dual GPU card I know) which is a lot cheaper than this new Titan. So the GTX Titan seems to be a VERY expensive "new toy", which can be outperformed by cheaper products that are already available.

The 6GB memory does seem amazing though.
