Oculus Rift Co-Founder/Engineer Dies at 33

Santa Ana, California - In a tragic turn of events, Andrew Scott Reisse (33), co-founder and computer graphics engineer for Oculus VR, creators of the Oculus Rift, was an innocent pedestrian crossing the street when he was struck by a Dodge Charger trying to escape from the police. Police report that the car was driven by Victor Sanchez (21) and two other suspects fleeing an altercation. The vehicle ran several red lights before finally hitting the crosswalk where Reisse was crossing.

Representatives of Oculus VR stated:

Andrew was a brilliant computer graphics engineer, an avid photographer and hiker who loved nature, a true loyal friend, and a founding member of our close-knit Oculus family. Andrew's contributions span far and wide in the video game industry. His code is embedded in thousands of games played by millions of people around the world. Words can not express how sorely he will be missed or how deeply our sympathy runs for his family.

Unfortunately, until someone is found guilty in court, they are still just suspects. Even when bleedingly obviously guilty. Innocent until proven, and all that. :/
