I've personally experienced both of these sorts....one client didn't know why their pc wouldnt boot, well turns out they had had quite a bit of rain and windows were left open.... right where they put pc. dust + water = GRIME

Maybe once every couple months? The last mouse + keyboard set I bought was like 200zar (logitech thing)...so not particularly attached to it. Same with headphones...usually just replace them if they become icky and I can't replacement cushions
