Not really. It's a really inefficient method of patching games. If the devs are at least halfway competent, they shouldn't have to worry about corrupt files in a patching process where you alter files instead of replacing them entirely.

I've never understood how people can stand to play on Normal servers. It's so much less enjoyable than Hardcore servers.

Objectively:
- No HUD, only mini map is visible.
- Clip count instead of bullet count when you reload.
- Guns do proper gun damage, 2-3 well placed shot to kill.
- No 3rd person vehicle view

Personally:
A lot more campers and snipers in hardcore... sniper 1 shot kill anywhere.
 
I'm going to kill small innocent furry kittens... anyone got this error? I try to join a server running China Rising and get this:

I've checked and I own CR. I saw the CR DLC download, so it was installed as I indicated in an earlier post.

I've clicked on both options, nothing. I've even done a repair.

Seems other ppl get the error aswell.

Seems they are aware of the problem....

Have you tried logging out of battlelog? Mine kinda did the same thing but after logging out and back into battlelog it sorted itself out

Personally, for me, the main lure is the increased damage of weapons. I don't like Normal where you can shoot a guy, yet he still gets away. If I give someone a few good shots, he should die. Similarly, if someone shoots a few goods shots at me, I should also die. :p
 
There's a 3rd person vehicle view :o

I am also a noob, only found out on Saturday that you can change your position / gun in a vehicle by using F1 - F4...

Anyone else have more of these tips???

Not sure if you know this, but there's also the option to switch between holding or toggling crouch and aim.
I use the toggle cos of laziness :p

Another perk: if you are in reloading animation, vault over a ledge to complete the reload*.
*Does not work with launchers and LMGs.

Quite a few people maintain that a toggle aim improves accuracy as you're not holding down the RMB while aiming.

Another tip is that you can change your firing rate of the weapon by pressing V.

Toggling to single fire on guns with low stability, like the SCAR, makes a world of difference!

I leave it on auto and tap/burst away using guns with 30+ stability :)

Also had the problem... seems like BF4 is replying on the community to fix the game for them.

In an attempt to save 'em furries, try this:
- Open REGEDIT (Windows Registry Editor)
- Navigate to the following (64-bit Operating System): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Wow6432Node > EA Games > Battlefield 4
- Navigate to the following (32-bit Operating System): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > EA Games > Battlefield 4
- Now rightclick the Battlefield 4 folder > New > Key > and name it "Xpack1"
- Within the new Xpack1 folder you created in the registry, add a new string value. Right click > New > String value
- Set the following parameters for the new string value you created:
Name: Installed
Value data: True

- fire up origin and enjoy.

Jip I had the same problem did the reg change and it asked me to dl China rising again so let's see tonight....
 
How do you find the netcode and hit detection after this most recent patch?

I ask because on console being forced to play out of region, they are really penalising high ping players. Its made it much worse. Is it better for you PC guys playing locally now? Less trades and better hit detection.
 
Still slow, you shoot someone and the drop half a second later...... Do u guys on console have the network slider?
