Official Battlefield 4 Thread

i finally found a clan to play with i am a proud member of UE now (only play hardcore) so now i have some more buddies to jam with and a ts channel that i'm not alone in :p

I will play tonight and see if i experience any new flaws.

btw can i only record in game vid with fraps?

To see all the changes go to this link... So it has helped in some ways.

Always check the changelog when you update... :)
Ja, more interested in first hand accounts than what they put on there. They ALWAYS have "general stability issues addressed" or similar, that means nothing.

I'm suddenly experiencing some weird lag or frame drops, not certain. Anybody else feel this jittery behaviour?
Yeah, had some major rubberbanding on the first two servers tonight.
Seens some comments of guys losing up to 20fps since the PC patch. Dont like the sound of that at all. No point in patching something but with no optimisation only to have to repatch later again.

I'd recommend sticking to 32 player servers for now. 62man servers get crazy as it's grenades, vehicles and snipers EVERYWHERE.

-edit-

Here's some beginner's tips for you as well.

-pressing F2 in a vehicle lets you switch to the second seat. This ranges from F1 (driver/gunner) all the way to F5
-when playing assault, you don't need to look at your teammate to revive them
-laser sights are visible through smoke
-when in the RHIB, pressing F5 puts on the jetski for quick getaways
-to pick up a soldier's kit, hold E when looking at his weapon (this is useful to revive teammates if they are playing assault and you aren't)
-you cannot load ammo into guns you pick up on maps (.50 cal sniper etc)
-use 'Q' to spot enemies
-'Q' is also used to request ammo, health, orders etc
-when playing as a squad leader, hold 'Q' to give orders to your squadmates as well as request items from the commander
-enemies can be spotted through smoke grenades
-you can hold 'E' and run towards a vehicle to enter instead of spamming 'E'
-C4, SLAMS, and Claymores can be detonated by shooting them
-pilots can be shot out of all air vehicles
-at full health, tanks need 3 C4 charges to be destroyed
-you can counter a knife kill by pressing 'F'
-knife kills cannot be countered from the side or back

Thanks!
This helps alot!

You can also try out DXtory or MSI Afterburner to record.

If you have a Kepler based Nvidia card then I'd recommend using Shadowplay.

And yes, Fraps will only record in game footage.

Congrats on the clan by the way!

Yeah, running a GTX 780 with a 4770K i7 so this is disappointing. Tried rolling back to previous drivers - same issue. Must be BF then.

From another Conquest noob : Thanks again DuckKnuckle!

The C4 tip is super welcome. Also I wish more people spotted, it helps so much.

2 Questions:

1.By not looking at teammate and reviving them, what do you mean?
2. How many RPG rockets does it take to kill a tank? LAV? If you know the details from front/side/back, that would be great.

A lot of players, when reviving, look straight down at the dead player to revive them. You can actually look forward normally and use your defibs. Also, you don't need to be directly on your next to your teammate to revive.

I'm not sure about your second question. I believe it's 3 or 4 RPGs to take it down.

I'm still surprised how far away you can be to a player and still revive him.

- Directly from the back (90deg perpendicular to the back, not just onto the back) = 2 rpgs (it will also give a hectic mobility hit and the guy wont be able to move at all)
- Directly from the side (90deg perpendicular again) = 3 (up to 35hit)
- Anywhere else only does around 21 to 23damage, so 4+ rpg's.

I'll find a youtube vid explaining just now and repost it.

EDIT: Heres one from the beta, but its still the same

Thanks for this!

Another question: I hear people complaining about the ACE 23 in chat. Is it a bit OP in your opinion? Also what assault rifle/carbine do you recommend (given I haven't unlocked the ACE 23 yet)

Personally, I don't think the ACE 23 is OP. It might be easier to handle due to its lack of recoil in some cases.

Otherwise something like the AEK 971 destroys the ACE 23. It's high RPM is great. It's the AEKs recoil that deters some people. As soon as you throw on a nice angled grip with a muzzle break or surpressor, it becomes great and highly manageable.

So the AEK is my go-to assault rifle. As for carbines, I love using the MTAR. Absolutely wrecks in close quarter battles and if you burst fire, it does fairly well in medium as well.

Yeah, the ACE23 isn't OP per say, but it is a beast gun, jack of all trades. Its the BF4's equivalent to the M16A3 in Bf3. Its got a decent rate of fire, and minimal recoil to boot. I think its the best gun in the game. The only reason I've stopped playing with it is because I'm trying to master all the weapons (500kills), otherwise I'd be whoring it more - I dont give a shit about OP, or noob/scrub weapons...I just want to kill people and not die myself. If someone dies by the ACE23 and complains, then they should've been using it as well.

For me, the AEK absolutely wrecks people up close (not as well as the FAMAS though :D), but for long range I can't get enough bullets into a guy without running out. So I use the AEK/FAMAS for Operation Locker, but I'd use the ACE23 or Scar-H for everything else.

Exactly the same as me!

It's a hassle but helps me enjoy the game for longer chasing these challenges.

Currently have my AK-12 and AK5C at over 500 with all unlocks, my U100-MK5 is about 50 kills away from the tag.

Focusing on the ACWR and M416 for my Engineer and Medic kits, respectively.

Yeah I'm doing the same thing with my guns now. Currently have 3 with all unlocks. Next gun is ~ 100 kills away.

Nice. So far I've done the ACE23, AK-12, SCAR-H, FAMAS, L85A2, ACE52, AEK, AK5C, ACE21, M416 and AUG. Working on the AKU-12 and ACW now.

Just go to 510kills though, not just 500, then at least you get all the battlepacks as well.
