I either use the RDS (reflex) with the green laser, heavy barrel and angled grip. Or if I know it'll be a close quarters map like Flood Zone, I'll use the heavy barrel with the vertical grip for the best hip fire accuracy.

I agree its more like a semi automatic sniper rifle which is hit and hope, no skill in using them. They used to be banned from most servers in BF3 if I remember.

That's silly. Weapon balancing and banned weapons are such a waste of time and proves how b1tchy these communities are getting. Just imagine they nerfed the rail gun in Quake 3, pansy gamers, everywhere.

Dude, I agree with you 100%. There is NO reason why anyone shouldn't be allowed to use all the guns and gadgets that's in the game. The weapons are balanced. No one has the right to tell you that you may not use something in a game, when you paid for the game and have full right to enjoy everything it has to offer.

It's like the dumbass Dota community that always moans about people picking Riki or Bounty Hunter. The only people that moan are the ones that don't know how to counter those heroes. So technically, the morons are the ones moaning. Same thing with BF4. If I kill you by shooting you in the face with a noob-tube, build a bridge, and get over it. Maybe next time don't camp behind a wall the whole time.
 
I actively seek OP/noob/scrub weapons and whore them for that reason. Especially when playing clan matches where everyone is a master at those OP weapons themselves, you need to match fire with fire.

All guns are fair game unless there is a bug in the system which makes it a virtual exploit - in which case they cannot be used in comp matches.

I have a soft spot for this forum because you guys pointed me towards the M16A3 (pre patch) when I was just getting into Bf3. Man, what a gun. Transformed my gameplay until I got my hands on the AEK.

We should start a movement. We should petition the UN to enforce a condition to keep all virtual guns legally accurate to their real world counter parts! We should bomb EA.

Using the ACW now, had a ridiculous game on Locker with it. That thing is so good! Have to use a muzzle brake on it though.

I've stayed away from the heavy barrel in bf4...but only because of some stuff I've read online about it. Used to have it on every gun on bf3. I'll give that loadout a go and see.
 
Finally Dive on with recon and only need 67 more sniper kills for Div 1 with sniper rifles :)

Still had my weird character rubber banding last night 2 or 3 times but as soon as i swop weapons or reload it's gone
Anyone else experienced this by now?

Neo don't make me hit you with my Racist stick :p, and it's not so much moaning as being irritated because there is no skill in firing a semi auto sniper rifle, i've had a 1045m Head shot with a 4x acog scope. i hate using the bigger scopes cos glare gices you away
And Dice lied when they said it would be harder to spot snipers because the glare will be adjusted for BF4.........yeah about that

Give it a shot, you play a lot different than the next guy. Lots of people swore the M416 was the best gun in BF3 with a RDS, grip and HeavyBarrel. For me a vanilla, iron sight AEK was the beast!

In BF4 I use the HB more often than not and have yet to find it over/under-powered in any way that is not caused by a mad mix of attachments or good gun logic.

Snipers have a decent upper hand for scope glare to be a necessity. Besides the best snipers are active snipers and use lower-mag scopes.
