I've heard a lot of attack helicopter pilots rage on about how hard it is to stay in the air compared to BF3. I'm not a heli pilot so I cant judge on the diff. For me, an engineer on most maps, it feels about the same as in BF3 when downing aircraft.
One thing I've noticed though is that pilots that come at you from up high are relatively easy kills. Pilots that hug the earth and fly around obstacles are much MUCH hard to kill. It gives them a chance for the counter measures to reload. Also, you need an engineer on a transport or little bird, and you'll stay alive much longer. I've been an engineer repairing and we stayed up for loooooong. You get hit, go down, hide, repair and live to fight again.
Sort of like in real war, (not the repair thing, the way you fight) helicopters dont sit 1km up in the air and just blow away everything. (ok ok, except if you have nothing to take them out, aka Iraq and Afghanistan. But take Syria for example, they have some AA missiles and have taken out many helis) But yeah, on the opposite side, the rest of the game doesn't behave like a real war would. Jets dont kamakazi into you, SRAWs arent carried 5 per engineer, etc.
Oh and about SRAWs, for some reason, some heli pilots like to remain stationary or fly really slow in a straight line....thats just ASKING for a SRAW hit...
So is it really harder for a heli pilot?
