Well, after finally getting Black Ops to install I set everything up the way I like it. Then I browse the server to find one to play on and there's a crap load to choose from...... awesome. :)

Select one, map loads, select class........... 5 seconds later....... Connection Interrupted........... :confused:

Try a different server........... same problem.

Tried another 6 times on different servers............. Connection Interrupted.........


....................shit. :mad:

Guess who's playing SP only tonight. :cry:

Black Ops PC Multiplayer

Thought it would be best to create one thread for all black ops pc MP related problems, complaints, praises and general banter.

My initial thoughts of the MP, its laggy as anything even on a host that peers with mweb it is almost at the point of being unplayable. Pings spike from 40 to about 400 on regular intervals. Anyone else experience the same problem?

Nice idea. I think Toxin also created a thread with his problem. Would be sweet if an admin could paste it here.

Anyway, my question, how many local servers do we have?

I have a sh1tload of servers hehe.

The lag is horrible. playing on a 30-50 ping, then it shots up to over 600 and stays like that for like 20 seconds then disconnects, or comes back down. Stutter everywhere!!!!!!!
I only played 1 map without lag, one smooth sailing map. The rest...........eish.
 
I am sorry but i feel that i wasted R500. Partly due to the lag and counterstrike feel. Maybe when the issues are fixed i will feel different. As an old ok'ish cod4 player i may just be full of shit......
 
I have had no problems. Just a bit laggy every now and then. I have also seen many servers. Getting a ping of about 60 on a Vodacom 3G account. Now that is not bad at all. Have not even looked at the single player yet. What FPS are you guys getting?

Same here. I can see only 4 though.

I didn't play a single game last night after all the issues I experienced. At first the continues steam crash while updating the game, then when It finally installed, I Launch the multi-player the game gets stuck on "fetching stats". I dont have any stats!!!! I finally resolved this after a while. I finally jump into a game and my ping keeps jumping from 70-999 within the first few seconds. My FPS drops to 20fps and it lags horrible rendering the game unplayable for myself. I tried with both my Mweb and Axxess account and its the same issue. Eventually I just got rather frustrated and didn't bother trying anymore and just went to cry myself to sleep.

There is a problem with the FPS at the moment. I dont know what it is. I started with all settings on full with AA on x16 and i had to change it to x4 for some unknown reason.

Here is what i have seen so far. That is the only reason i can think that would cause it. They need to bring the first patch out ASAP. As everything stands now its still a great game. Played the whole night last night. I am stuffed today at work. Feels like i was out all night drinking. haha
 
I did some research last night. THis is a global issue, and David Vonderhaar from Treyarch tweeted that they are aware of the issue and already working on it.
 
Didn't you PC guys get a patch when you installed the game?
My PS3 did and I asked what it was for and apparently it was meant to fix some lag issues. And I got this game at 9am.
 
There have already released 2 patches for the pc version. One was 200mb +, and one was 8.9mb.

None pertaining to the issue though.

i guess this for bad mouthing all the other fps's out there. now you will suffer in the one you wanted the most!
