Ok noted. Also...if I buy a ship, and someone blows me up or I crash into a planet...what happens. Do I respawn somewhere with/without my ship? is life over, start again? Is there some kind of xp/skills/traits system in place, or is progress solely based on money earned and ship bought with said money?

You get an option to replace your ship with/without upgrades deepening on your insurance. Otherwise you get a free Sidewinder with 1k credits. You can also take out a loan to replace our ship with a repayment of 10% of any income you earn.
There are no skills/xp so the only thing that you need to worry about is cargo.
Also, you can't crash into planets. trust me![]()
Not entirely true, if you have the expansion you can crash into the planet if you are trying to land on it, otherwise you cannot crash into them.
I think they're mostly just whiny little bitches. the only major gripe I have with the game is their ridiculous pricing model
nooooo cause it also requires a bit of luck. you have to hold thumbs you get a mission requiring the resource you have in your cargo hold
Meh for the mission thing. The metacritic user rating is 64%. The steam score peaked at 78%, but has been gradually coming down (I think primarily due to people running out of patience with regards to missing features and promises). It was 73% before it crashed down to where it is now after they announced Horizons and the pricing model. So a significant portion of those "whiny little bitches" agree with you Malice![]()
Man i want this game, friend at work said he will lend me a joystick
Have you guys tried the new planetary missions yet? They stack! I just took 11 'Cut the power' missions, shot one generator and got tons of credits. xD
Thanks for the feedback guys. Whats your thoughts on the steam reviews...they've put me off quite a bit, but I wanna know your side of things![]()

Is it really that obscene, though? They have to make money to fund further development somehow, and I don't think selling ship skins really makes them that much money. Considering they occupy roughly the same niche as Eve Online, and Eve Online charges $15 a month, I don't think $60 a year is that unreasonable. Especially because you don't have to buy the expansions and they still add plenty of content and new features to the base game.
my problem is more with the fact that the "expansion" cost more than the initial game
Well to be fair, the original was about the same price on release. Think I actually paid just over 1k for it on release (with conversion rates).
you're missing the point. they expect me to pay R630 for a game that I already own more than half of
well if you didn't buy the original at first....
well I wasn't expecting them to try and rob me once they released Horizons!
