Sorry, I didn't get the acronym at first.
Found my target and destroyed him, but not before he took out my cockpit. Running on oxygen I found the nearest spaceport, only to get interdicted, escaped and about 30 seconds from being able to dock, BAM!
ARGH!$#*&$
I reckon if you get more into it and play it like a sim, it is very difficult. But you can pick up and play as I have. Though it is doable with kb/mouse I would recommend at least a 360 controller.
Quite quick and easy to learn but long and hard to master. I'm loving it, and must be going on 30hours now.
I'm sure you could. But there's just not enough keys on the controller so I was using a combination of controller and keyboard, just the controller is two handed.Yeah I tried it with a mouse/keyb combo first, then I tried my 360 controller. The controller was way easier to fly with.
I'm sure with practice you'd come right with the keyb/mouse though

I eventually went joystick with a combination of my G13 gameboard and not using keyboard at all now. Makes so much difference. I can only dream what a HOTAS is like, I still can't fly unassisted.
Pretty much yeah, though it's also completely doable with keyboard mouse.so what you guys are saying is that the game is best played with either a Xbox remote or a Joystick with some extra buttons?
Just thinking out loud here.
But could the fact that I don't ever come across other CMDR's be due to the fact that it is such a [-]large[/-] immense world, and that maybe I'm in a "cold" area as opposed to being in a high traffic location in terms or real life people. Surely people tend to huddle together to exploit the games systems/mechanics to it's fullest?
Or do you think it will get better with the Wings update?
I have taken measures to ensure I would see CMDR's, like forwarding ports and disabled router firewall etc to make certain protocols have access.
When I still played a few weeks ago I was convinced that FD was artificially creating congestion. I actually had to wait 15-20 minutes to get a parking bay at one station due to a ton of commander just sitting there waiting for it to clear up, and that was 100+ LY away from my starting spot. Which made no sense to me whatsoever.
But if you aren't seeing anybody at all, either you are truly in the middle of nowhere, or perhaps the amount of players has just plummeted.
From everybody in here, it seems like you are the only person really still playing...
Some Commanders are in systems that cannot currently be retrieved from the server database, which has been causing crashes when loading into the game. We're working to identify and repair the systems affected, which includes a change to automatically report the problem system and exit back to the main menu with a load failure message.
This is it. The end of CMDR ItchyNipples... I tried logging in last night and found no players in any of the usual popular places. Then I tried again today with the same result, multiple times. I then was successfully able to log in via a friend's account to the exact same space station, on the same computer and immediately, and repeatably found other players. So I can only conclude that the day is finally here! My goal is complete, and the community has what they want! I have been banned, and I accept it implicitly.
Just something I read over at /r/EliteDangerous:
Now, could this be why I am not seeing anyone, EVER!
I have been playing this game (and sure, having fun with it) since Thursday evening, non-stop. Now I can't believe amongst all my play time recently, that 1) I am in such a secluded area that I am no seeing a single sole, or 2) the player base has dropped that drastically considering all the people in the world that are playing this.
