Had a pretty cool time last night, even though i kinda stuffed up at the end. don't laugh at my cash balance, only been playing a few hours.
so i cruised around in my starting Sidewinder doing the odd bounty and courier mission. upgraded it a bit for those tasks. then i decided to try out mining. bought mining lasers and refinery and was good to go. struggled to find bloody ringed planet but when i eventually did, mining proved too boring so i gave it up and flew back to Eravate (Russel Ring) to swap mining lasers back to mighty pulse lasers.
I noticed that the shipyard had a snazzy Eagle for about 45k. I had around 70k so thought it was worth the punt. Was about to pull the trigger when I noticed that the Viper Mk 3 was going for 145k. I sold every last piece of kit on sidewinder in order to try and fund this shiney new purchase. At the end, even with the trade in, I was about 5k short!
But no worries, I had a mission to turn it at Sylvester City!

So i hobbled along in my undefended and woefully unequipped gimped Sidewinder. got there and turned in mission, but no shipyard! So then i check map to find nearest station, and saw Arakahm Market (or something like that) and it was closer than Russel Ring. But when i got there, they didn't sell the Viper!
Hobbled back to Russel Ring and debated for a while about the risk of spending all my money and not having anything left for insurance. But given the apparently superior kit of the Viper, I went for it. i then checked message board and noticed a simple data delivery mission to a star 5Ly away that paid 16k. Easy money, i thought. I would then have a small safety buffer of insurance cash.
Gingerly, and with much trepidation I eased out of the hanger and headed to the nearby system, hoping to avoid any attack on my uninsured new ship. Thankfully, the trip went by without incident, and I pulled into the space port docking bay without any drama. Excitedly called up the Mission Board to claim my 16k and....nothing. It did not show up. I thought about it for a moment and realised my stuff up. At previous station I had chosen GALAXY MAP and set my route, forgetting to actually ACCEPT the mission
