Ok, got the patch, now to get back into the game after many months of absence. The usual sandbox anxiety: what should I do????
Previously I was coining it with mining so I definitely will try something different this time.
Tried out the new shipboard fighters. Basically you have a fighter you can send out from your ship to fight for you. The crew member levels up as as well, takes a cut of your earnings and you can swap with them so they fly your ship and you fly the fighter. Doesn't do that much for you, its fun etc but doesn't add a lot more DPS to your ship and you can only use them in ships that are flying bricks already.
I'm struggling to make money, max profit I can get is on 250 000 credits on a imperial slave route that was shared with me. Far way still to the type 7.
Yeah the FuelRats are also planning a December trip to there, classified route OC if you don't join. My Type-7 won't reach that far though so I will be skipping this hehe.
The thing is that it is exactly the way it looks in the trailers. It is the game design that is a little misleading. The game consists of content loops. In other words: things you do and keep doing till you sick of it, each of them largely disconnected from other things you can do. So you go bounty hunting, it is procedurally generated and disconnected from other things and after a while it feels.... disconnected from the game. The same goes for everything else.
Now if Frontier could just string these disparate activities together with a story, I would be all over it.
