Official Origin Access Thread

EA's Origin Access has quickly become quite a decent deal - R48,50 per month for quite a selection of games. I know that there was a thread about it a while back but I though it may be helpful to have an official thread where I'll keep the OP updated with all that is included.

What is Origin Access?
Endless PC gaming, just R48,50 a month. Get unlimited access to an instant collection of great PC games, try new EA games before they're released, and save 10% on Origin purchases. Cancel anytime.
You obviously only get access to the games as long as you are subscribed, it's not a case of the games are yours forever.

What games do I currently get?
  • Mass Effect 1, 2 & 3
  • FIFA 15
  • FIFA 16
  • Battlefield 3
  • Battlefield 4 Premium (includes all expansions)
  • Battlefield Hardline Ultimate Edition
  • Dragon Age: Origins, II and Inquisition Deluxe Edition
  • Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare
  • Torchlight 2
  • The Sims 3 Starter Pack
  • Simcity
  • This War of Mine
  • Dungeons of Dredmor Complete
  • Need for Speed Rivals: Complete Edition
  • The Banner Saga
  • Trine Enchanted Edition & Trine 2: Complete Story
  • Dead Space 1, 2 & 3
  • Medal of Honour Allied Assault War Chest
  • Peggle

What new games can I try?
Mirror's Edge Catalyst!
Play the game before it is released for six hours of in-game time. The real game, not a demo. Progress carries over if you buy.

I can't see this becoming too papular here in South Africa with the mainstream of gamers having shitty internets.

It's not a streaming service though, you install the games as per normal in Origin and run them off your hard drive.

But doesn't it only allow you to play for a set amount of hours?

Only for the trials, like Mirror's Edge. All the other games can be played as long as you like - or rather for as long as you're subscribed (i.e. at least a month)

good price and great to have a subscription service on the PC, but unlike the Xbox or PS the EA service is limited when it comes to games, although I got to hand it to them they've put out their best.

I got this when NFS came out for PC to play the 10 hour trial.
Never played any of the free games for reasons unknown but kept the subscription.

Now I'm playing the Mirrors Edge, 6 hour trial. yay.

Origin Access

Any one using Origin Access?
It's not badly priced but I know I only going to play a few games and I know bf1 is not going to end up on access for a long time so I dunno if it worth it at the moment.
Also can you pay like 6 or 12 months at a time I don't like recurring payments on my credit card.

Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 are coming to Origin Access

I'm quite excited to hear that these 2 games will be added to Origin Access in the near future. I'm keen on subscribing in order to play through the SP campaigns which I have heard are really good. May even just splurge on the R300 for a year access rather than going for the R48,50 a month deal and get into the MP too.

Battlefront, which was already on the vault games list now comes as the Ultimate edition with all the DLC as of recently.

But what about EA Access, I know they're one in the same (basically) so is it assumed that if one platform gets it so does the other?

It looks like both EA and Origin Access are getting them:
At some point between now and September, the EA and Origin Access Vaults will add Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2--two major releases from last fall. Origin Access members will also get their hands on The Sims 4: Digital Deluxe Edition, Oxenfree, and Rebel Galaxy. Launch dates were not announced, but additions to the Vault are typically permanent, so you'll have plenty of time with the games once they're added.

Battlefield 1 has been added to Origin Access. I'm considering getting a year's subscription for R300. Get a year's worth of BF1, Titanfall 2 and quite a few other games.

You'll lose interest in BF1 quickly, but Titanfall 2 will shine.

Ya I've heard good things about TF2, and I'm keen to play its campaign too. From what I've heard the BF1 single player missions are pretty good too.

Yeah BF1 campaign is cool. And despite all the shit that the SA community made for local servers, they mostly remain stagnent while everyone still plays on the EU servers.
