The thing that should not be
well I watched a documentary called collapse. It was about a guy who explains why the world is going to collapse. And the scary thing is he does not sound like a complete nut. It may not happen in 2012. But it will eventually happen. Oil is at it's peak and from here its just going to go down. Saudi Arabia has the largest oil reserves in the world but it looks like it's running out. They are busy trying to find more in the ocean while they can afford it. Why do you think they are in Afghanistan and around that part of the world its for oil. Once oil runs out we are royally screwed. Then there will be war. Every thing uses oil. And I am worried it's going to happen when I am still around. Every empire collapses. I know you people will shoot me down for this but oil is not unlimited and lets say you can drill oil in the north pole you won't be able to. Firstly there is no solid land for the pipes and even if they do manage it it will be depleted in a couple of months. So forget all these fantasy's about the world just ending I reckon it is going to be a slow decay :(
 
Dude, believe me, you are but scraping the surface here... the rabbit hole goes much further than this...
You don't want to see some of the links I can post about what can happen and what is happening in the world, and it's resources. It is quite unsettling, unnerving and quite frankly, sad.

You can just look at what happened at the Copenhagen climate change conference last month and then the absolute lack of cooperation between the Countries in the world, most notably the richest countries, that have the actual power to do something, especially China.

And then we are not even talking about any conspiracy theories of The All Seeing Eye.

lol I know about that shit. But once oil is finished there will be war. And it is very soon. It just history repeating it's self.

All i need is an Island and about 500 - 1000 people of my choosing. Life will begin anew my way. Or a planet. I would love to go colonize mars.

If fuel runs out more panic and chaos ensues, at lest you will be able to join a mercenary group, guns, guns and explosives.
