On studies and training

So I attended a Red Hat certification course this past week and realized that yet again this is a certificate that expires and needs to be renewed every 3 years. This ultimately means that I have to go and pay another exam fee in 3 years time and rewrite the same damn exam.

Not that I'm paying for it or anything, its just that I have vmware, microsoft, cisco and redhat certification exams that I have to write almost every year and it's getting to me. Same shit, different year.

Does your company send you on training? How do you enjoy your training?

Our company "sent" me on InDesign training. was more of a refresher course for me really.

Currently I'm doing some courses through Shaw Academy after hours

We just get left to our own devices to figure shit out. Then they wonder why you don't know when they ask, "Because I have fucking work to do!!"

Sorry, as you can guess, it's a touchy subject at the moment at work.

I've never gone for training after varsity, but I'm quite keen on doing my masters next year. I've just got to scrape some cash together for it..

I've gotten a hello world app running on android. Let me know if you ever want to mess around with writing an app together sometime, I've got an idea for one, and would love to break someone else's codebase for a change too.
