Over 1 million Xbox One owners bought Forza Motorsport 5, making it the "best-selling racing game" in proportion to its console, developer Turn 10 Studios said in a press release today.

It's worth noting that these comparative figures released about three months into the Xbox One's life cycle. As of last week, Microsoft had sold 3 million of its new consoles, meaning Forza was purchased by a little more than one-third of all Xbox One console owners. Since the next-gen launch, both Microsoft and Sony have been quick to say one sold more consoles than the other –– as of two months ago, IGN sorted through the facts to find that the PS4 actually had a slight edge.

Turn 10 Studios also released the Smoking Tire DLC for Forza earlier this month, which brought 10 new vehicles to the game for buyers and season pass holders. Additionally, a source on Neogaf claiming to be a Microsoft insider said a new Forza Horizon will be releasing this fall; the user also provided the alleged release dates of several other key Microsoft franchises.

It is one of the only first party titles for xbone and the Forza games are not to bad so I can see how it would sell as well as it did.

Sony better release a decent Gran Turismo for PS4 soon to keep up and not an upscale version of GT6.

Forza is a better racing game, but GT6 is a better simulator.

I can understand most people would buy xbone just for forza, i would too..but due to unforeseen circumstances I decided to go for a better gaming console instead.
