I enjoy both, but if you put a gun to my head to make a choice it would be single player. Nothing beats getting lost in a RPG just exploring the world at your own pace.
LOL. I would if the new map packs were available ...
Wait, what? It's out? For real?
This is very interesting. I really thought that the majority of our users would express a preference for online gaming.
So, to the SP fans, what was the last single player game that you really enjoyed? Maybe I just need the right game to reignite my passion for story driven gaming. My recent favourites were Mass Effect 2 and Uncharted 2. I have Demon's Souls gathering dust, I hear it offers an amazing single player experience.

same here, starting MP first would be wierd...If a game has both SP and MP i'll always playthrough the SP first before even thinking about the MP.

I would say that Demon's Souls probably isn't worth it if you don't play it online. The developers clearly thought so as well because if your signed into PSN there is no option to not play online. That said, I recently played another character up and there are only a handful of people still playing (none of them new players), so its quite a rare occasion now when you find a soul sign to summon someone to help you, I didn't even get invaded once. This really diminishes the game experience compared to 6 months or a year ago.

Which version of the game are you playing? I have the Asian version and there are ALWAYS people online either to summon or invading me.
See I think Demon's Souls is one of the best games ever made but its unforgiving nature puts alot of people off. I love playing it solo and the few times I have taken it online nobody has bothered me. Since the story is a bit thinly spread i can see why I wouldn't appeal to all SP fans.
Also I think had to option to choose who you play with been included it could have been a very awesome co-op title.
I'm going a bit off-topic here (ok, a lot off-topic =) ), but I think the difficulty of Demon's Souls is exaggerated. As soon as you realize its not your typical button smasher, start playing a little more defensively and using some observation, you will have little trouble, even less trouble if you pay attention to rated messages. Getting out of the button smashing mindset seems to be the biggest hurdle for most people. World Tendency on the other hand... I could see that infuriating new players, its probably the most bizarre mechanic in the game.
And yes, I have the European version.
