Online retailer ratings

Hi guys

I'm posting some positive feedback for Raru.co.za, there ads have been circling the site lately and I gave them a shot this week. Ordered on Monday and the order was here today, it was a 3-5 day order, would have been here yesterday if the delivery guy didn't get lost yesterday.

I believe Raru is by the same people that originally started take2 (now takealot) who are now starting again after some noncompete expired or something. They are the admins of sagamer I think...

Thats random, well whatever the reason it looks like a nice little site with some decent specials on new releases.

I also recall reading this. They seem like good guys.

They have a great site layout as well.

Hey, I tell you, RARU is the shiz!

Odered a PS4 headset yesterday, they were also the cheapest supplier, and the couriers delivered today. Even to Margate, and outlaying area, the following day?!

I am impressed!

Hi All

I bought a PC from Evetech and I'd rate them a 7/10. The PC arrived in great shape, everything works perfectly with no real bloatware so that is a definite plus. My only gripes are that they called to say that the motherboard and case were not perfectly compatible so some of the USB ports would not work (they offer this combo so it is something they should probably let customers know before they actually pay for it). Also, I paid for a R7260x and they called to say it would take weeks and offered me a GTX750 instead.

I also recently ordered speakers Raru. The package arrived wet but the contents were fine.

Well, technically I would blame the courier for that.

Yeah, that's an interesting point. If a retailer forces one to use a particular courier and that courier messes up, then can one feel aggrieved with the online retailer? And then if a package arrives speedily and in good condition, can the customer feel positive about the online retailer? I know I typically tend to lump both the courier service and the online retailer as one package (excuse the pun) but maybe I need to be more discerning...

Ordered a package from Kalahari. Though it was a street delivery address and the order specified door to door delivery their warehouse still instructed to deliver to courier. So my package is sitting somewhere in some post office somewhere in Pretoria and they don't know where.

Ah well, not urgent at least

I have ordered a lot of my PC hardware from Ikonix. They usually have very good prices and I have gotten great service from them, but I haven't purchased from them recently. They were located in JHB for a long time, but they recently moved down to Cape Town.

Recently purchased several things from Takealot. Free Delivery and very fast. They usually say 2-3 working days for delivery, every time I have gotten the item the very next day. 10/10, would order again.

Bought many things from Sybaritic before and was always let down. Delays, delays, delays.
Decided to give them one more chance and regretted the decision. More delays!

Unfortunately takealot does not stock the corsair k70 or logitech g710 plus. So won't be using them. The cooler Master storm quickfire ultimate only comes in cherry mx blues.

I can agree with a lot of the posts. Raru is in top form and if you know someone that can buy from Frontoza for you. Estorm might have nice prices but I waited a while to receive my goods.

I am so pissed at Takealot right now. I ordered a mouse from them (Cougar 700M) after seeing Joker saying good things about it and also reviews being very positive. It arrived yesterday but I was only able to open it tonight.

Open the Takealot box, find that the mouse packaging is loose, but not concerned, maybe it should be like that. Open up and take out the mouse. The weights are lying all over inside the box, the mouse pads underneath the mouse are scratched which clearly shows that this mouse has been used and that it is not new.

Now ofcourse I have to decide, do I return it and wait to get a new one, or do I just keep this one. I am thinking of returning it, because this just feels really shit.

Give the money back! In this case the mouse.

Someone in my office this week ordered Witcher 3 XB1 as pre-order, and they sent through the PS4 copy despite the picking slip stating XB1. Their service is slipping, was afraid of this when Kalahari would come on board.
